When the Hogwarts letter came, I was shocked. Born in a muggle family, I never knew magic existed. Although, looking back, I do realize now I may have done some accidental magic once in a while, like the window suddenly exploding when I was angry, or a tree catching fire a day that was hot and humid. Anyway, after buying the necessary equipment and books for school, I got my wand (9 inches, walnut wood, unicorn tail hair and slightly springy) at Ollivanders, and then bought a great horned owl, which I named Olivia. I remember waiting at my house, reading the school books and playing with Olivia, before the 1st of September came. At the Sorting Ceremony, I got sorted into Ravenclaw, probably because of my love of reading, curiosity, creativity, and my need to understand and comprehend. I am very excited for Charms, Transfiguration, Potions, and History of Magic ( if you are wondering why History of Magic, remember I am a muggle-born), and I am in my first year. Although I am a Non-Native English Speaker, I prefer not to mark it since I feel like I speak a good enough English.
