Backstory

(Younger Student) When I received my Hogwarts Letter I was confused and amazed. I was muggle born and had no idea what the Wizarding world was. I thought it was some kind of joke. I mean a school for witches and wizards? What sense does that make? Apparently my great great great Grandmother was a witch. an old friend of her's actually took me shopping at a place called Diagon Alley. I got my wand there, it's a Holly wand with a Unicorn hair core. She said it was a really good wand and that I should take care of it. When I got to Hogwarts I was amazed. My favorite part was the sorting. I was put into Ravenclaw. They told me that Ravenclaw was for all the smart people. I didn't understand that. I had always been an average student if not slightly below average. Although I can say I'd always been a curious person. Back home I'd always loved animals and astrology.
