Backstory

I was sorted into the Ravenclaw House because of my inherent creativity and natural wit; the decision was quick and easy. The classes I personally enjoy the most are potions, charms, astronomy, and defense against the dark arts. The classes I like the least would have to be herbology (I don't have a particularly green thumb), transfiguration (I always mess up there), and arithmancy (I'm not too bad at it, but being proficient does not settle well with me). I always do well in history of magic, but it is not a class I would choose as a favorite. I am a half-blood witch; my father is a wizard and my mother was a muggle (she left us unexpectedly the year before my first year at Hogwarts). This blood status of mine has not really affected me in any negative way, though I have noticed a few looks here and there upon the mentioning of it. I was not in the UK during the time when He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named rose to power, as I was born in Nova Scotia, but I have heard the harrowing stories from my father's closest friends at Hogsmeade. My greatest strength is my innovation; if ever I find myself in a rather trifling situation, I'll find an interesting yet efficient way to solve the issue. On the other hand, my greatest weakness is my indecision. This trait combined with my aforementioned strength is tough to deal with. After finishing school, I hope to become a professor myself, perhaps for charms. Magic has always been a huge part of my life, and I fully believe in using magic honestly and carefully. As for any deeper desires, I have always wished to travel the world, as I have had few chances. I do have a pet, a small white mouse, that my grandmother got me when I first went to Hogwarts. One thing I like to share about my family the most is our connections with Azkaban. My paternal uncle was imprisoned there for utilizing the dark arts to kill any unsuspecting wizards for their wand cores. Why he did so, I do not know, and my father is adamant on keeping this secret from me, probably because he works for the Ministry of Magic.
