Backstory
My presence at Hogwarts wasn't always guaranteed. When I received my letter, my parents debated continuing to home-school me as they had for the past 5 years. The thought of staying in Upper Flagley while my friends got to leave for Hogwarts was unbearable. I love my parents dearly, but I was excited to go to Hogwarts, to live far from home and be independent, to learn new forms of magic, and to meet new friends. After much begging and promises made to be an outstanding student and represent the Fawleys honourably, my parents conceded. When I was sorted to Slytherin, my parents-- well, father was aggrieved, but ultimately, unsurprised, I think. His letter was short, and though he tried to sound encouraging (no doubt mom's work), I knew he was dissapointed I wasn't sorted to Hufflepuff as previous generations. Mother was warmer in her letter, assuring me Slytherin would be a home to me and aid me on my path to excellence. Then again, she were a Slytherin herself. As for me, I am excited. I've no doubt Slytherin is the best House for me, and I'm looking forward to this year.
