Allen Coalbane

Backstory

Whenever Allen got called from his room to speak to his parents, it usually wasn't good. He expected a lecture, but instead, he was met with an unfamiliar man who, before his own eyes, made goldfish of flames fly above his head. He sat and listened, just as incredulously as his parents, when the man explained that Allen was a young wizard in need of training, and that a special school was waiting to tap into his potential. Of course, Mother and Father had plenty of questions. How much was this school? Where was it? Could parents visit? Would their daughter be safe? Simple muggle questions that the man had answered with ease--and to Allen's relief, he had found his first real escape from home aside from his one-week summer camp.

Boarding the train and scanning through his books, he'd been quick to cut his hair once he found a spell to replenish it later, and change into the shirt and pants he'd insisted on buying--what kind of guy wore a skirt anyways? Still, being transgender was hard on him as a normal student, and he couldn't imagine how difficult it would be when he was a magical one.

Yet...the difficulties never came.

At home, he had been certain, his acceptance letter had clearly had his birthname written neatly at the top; a clear indication that, despite his wishes, he was always a girl under his parents home. And yet, as the surnames called alphabetically to be sorted approached his own, he found it accompanied by the first name 'Allen', and as if by magic, he found the name at the top of his acceptance letter to be changed as well.

Sure, he didn't know the first thing about magic. As a muggle born, he had a major disadvantage to the other kids. And yeah, rooming with other boys for the first time in his life was an adventure on it's own. But Allen found more than sanctuary in Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

He found his home.
