Elana Douglas

Backstory

When I was sorted into Ravenclaw, my heart skipped a beat. I was over the moon! My mother and sisters had been sorted into Ravenclaw and now I, Elana Douglas, was part of the house of wisdom. I do believe I have all the qualities of a true Ravenclaw since I am intelligent, wise and have the wit to get me places. There was a moment of hesitation, no more than 2 minutes, where the Sorting Hat wavered. The choice was between Gryffindor and Ravenclaw, a tight race. I think this is because I have my father's bravery and loyalty to those closest to me. To be honest, I don't mind either houses, since my father and my grandmother were both Gryffindors through and through.

My favourite classes are Astronomy, the History of Magic, Transfiguration and Charms. I don't particularly like Herbology or Potions since those are my weakest subjects.

My blood status is pureblood, since both my mother and father are wizards. My blood status has helped my life in a way, but my father is also an Auror, so that could be why I haven't ran into much trouble at Hogwarts or anywhere in the Wizarding World. My father and mother both fought in the Battle of Hogwarts as students and my father's parents also fought. I have heard many stories of how some of their closest friends and classmates died at their side, and all about the legendary Harry Potter and Dumbledore's Army.

I would say my greatest strength is my bravery or wit. I can face anything without flinching and I can get out of any situation with my wittiness and logical thinking. On the other hand, my greatest weakness would be my stubbornness. If I am decided on something, nothing could change my mind. That often leads to consequences which either help me or get me in trouble.

When I finish school, I hope to become an Auror like my father. It sounds far-fetched, since Aurors need lots of skill and intelligence, but I've dreamed of it since I was a little girl. If that dream doesn't work out, I would like to work another job at the Ministry of Magic.
