Preston Mackey Carlo

Backstory

After a extended hiatus, I come back to continue my magical education within Hogwarts. I am a Muggle-born person from the United States, specifically from North Carolina. In my Muggle life, I hold a B.A. and M.A. in English, concentrating in British Romantic and Victorian literature. Ideally, I would love to return to teaching Muggle students English and language arts - I briefly worked as a 8th grade English teacher and a substitute teacher. Thanks to some unfortunate events occurring with the powers that be within my previous school districts, I am not working in my current field as of present, but it is my goal to someday return. I do work as a server at a local restaurant, and while it is challenging, it makes for a fun experience.

In my free time, I enjoy writing, reading, music and television (particularly from the 70s and 80s), studying up on LGBT issues and Muggle politics, and games. In particular, I enjoy most any card game, and I am an avid bingo player (hence why I never work on Wednesday nights - I play bingo each Wednesday night). I am also a coffee addict of the worst kind, which is why I should really invest in Starbucks stock one day. =)
