Backstory

This is my fifth year at Hogwarts. I remember my first feast clearly. After a few minutes into a hatstall, I was Sorted into Slytherin for my ambition and cunning. Honestly, it would have been a disgrace for me to be in any other house--Mother was already disowned for marrying a Muggle, and I needed new ties for a better future. No more estranged half-blood status. No more pitying looks from extended family members. It was a new beginning I could create for myself, a new identity.
Transfiguration and Potions are where I do my best work. Succeeding in Professors McGonagall and Snape's classes is rewarding. It's a pity that Binns still teaches History of Magic. I enjoy learning about our wonderful history, but I'd rather have a competent teacher than being self-taught. I personally aspire to become a Potioneer by first becoming a Potions Apprentice, preferably under Professor Snape. Potions is a subtle art like Muggle chemistry, that has nuance and complexities. It's satisfying to create perfect potions and the possibility of working for an R&D department is enticing.
