⫸ My Journey to Hogwarts
I walk down the main street of Diagon Alley & look all around me while hundreds of students squeeze through the shops. My third year has finally arrived — the year I can finally visit Hogsmeade with my friends! Before I can get permission, I need new uniform robes from Madam Malkin's, as well as several third year books at Flourish & Blotts. I make my way to Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes to window-shop all of their new products. Before school shopping is complete, I also buy some potion ingredients from the apothecary, & I squeeze my way through the stationery store to purchase some quills & parchment. The smell of new parchment always gets me excited for school!
On the Hogwarts Express, I buy some Pumpkin Pasties & Chocolate Frogs from the Honeydukes Express Cart; a little taste of what's to come in Hogsmeade! My friends & I laugh & talk about the summer we all had until we see the castle in the distance for the first time this year. The sunset beaming on the castle is a sight to see!
In the Great Hall, I watch as the whispering first years are sorted into their houses, cheering loudly whenever someone joins Gryffindor. My classmates & I wonder what we could be learning this term & what magical things could happen this year. In the common room, I watch the fire roar while I sit in the big armchair. It's all very quiet now; just the fire crackling & sounds of snoring students in their dorms. In silence, I can't help but smile. I can't wait to study all things magical at Hogwarts!
