Chapter 2

Dear Mum,

I'm not going to write what occurred after that, for if anyone knew, we might've got detention, or even... expelled! I will say though... We all took a midnight stroll...

We started classes now, and I quite like the classes. Though, Professor Alexander Quilmane gave our class an assignment right off the bat. The questions nearly threw me off but luckily id been taking extensive notes in class. Here's some examples.

1) How long has Mr. Ollivander's family been in business?

2) Around approximately
what year was the Council of Warlocks established?

Around the third question, or maybe even the fourth, I was ready to bash my head against the table so I could head to Madam Pomfrey's office so I wouldn't have to do the quiz. I was not alone. Katelynn W. lowered her forehead to the table and let out a irritated groan, and Novellus messed around with his quill as if it were a sword. When Novellus was caught by the teacher, he just replied,

"Batman doesn't do schoolwork." I must admit I sniggered at this, even Professor Quilmane was a bit amused. But not enough so, that he forced poor Novellus into answering some questions aloud that weren't on the test. I believe we all got the memo. He dismissed us a moment later and said for us to remember to keep a journal on our Charms work, just before the door was stampeded by relieved first years.

The next class was much easier even if I didn't really understand it. Defense Against the Dark Arts, required an introductory assignment, which I'm sure I really got a horrid grade for. Though Professor Lillian Mae was quite polite and nice. Note: Take extensive notes.

Then was History of Magic with Professor Jæcob Balog. Actually, I was quite impressed with myself. There was a essay on, "Why History Is Important?" and an assignment which was referred to as 1.1. Though, it helped that the questions were like:

1) You are enrolled in Professor Balog's History of Magic 101 course?

It was quite amusing, and obviously I was not alone. Anne (She calls herself Three Dollar Bill) couldn't stifle a stream of giggles. I smiled more at Anne then the questions themselves. I do hope Professor Balog is nice outside of class as well, as most professors have been.

Next class of today was potions. The Professor here is head of the Hufflepuff house, and she's really nice! We did an assessment that I most likely need to redo, as I wasn't feeling too good and I didn't read the essay guidelines. Whoopsies.

Your mirroring companion,

Amanda Brockman (And Frightening. Though he's currently occupying himself by chewing on my copy of Quintessential Magic: An Introduction to Charms, by Professor Quilmane.)
