Hogwarts School Of Witch Craft And Wizardry

Chapter 1

Dear
Mum,

Heres my first day at Hogwarts. Alexa helped me edit it into a story.

I had to blink twice and rub my eyes before believing the sight before me. A
large charcoal castle alight at its windows stood before me. I was so in awe
that my recently found friends had to push me out of the way of the train door
before I was trampled by the other younger first years. We were at Hogwarts.
Soon I felt as giddy as the other first years. Would my year be good or busy. I
had no idea, but all that mattered was the castle looming  over the land,
encased with a pale fog.

"First years, come with me!" Called a red clothed lady, she
carried a large book in one crook of her arm and a wand in her free hand.
Anyone who was messing around shushed instantly at the intimidating teacher. I,
of course wasn't put off by her looks and dragged my friends Alexa Wishard and
Jacob Garson with me to the front of the line as we were lead across the
grounds and at the broad  doors of the wizarding school.

"First you will be assigned to a house, according to the Sorting
Hat. There are four houses, if you didn't know. Ravenclaw, of the intelligent,
creative, and witty. Hufflepuff, the loyal and the gleeful. Slytherin, the
cunning and sly.  Or Gryffindor, the brave and just. " said the
scarlet robed woman. She had also just introduced herself as Professor Lillian
Mae, the Head of Gryffindor house.

"What do you guys think you'll be?" Alexa had already told me
on the train that me would most likely be a Ravenclaw. I believed that now that
I heard the teachers words.

"I parents want me to be either Gryffindor or Ravenclaw." Alexa
said but didn't say what she thought. Jacob was another story, fretting over
everything. Earlier on the train he had been at ease compared to now at the
Sorting Ceremony. Fortunately for him, the first name on the list was called,

"Amanda Brockman!" Said a slight, yellow clothed woman who
smiled kindly at me as I hurried to the hat and placed it on my head.
Setting on the stool, the old grubby looking hat dropped over my eyes and
instantly a voice whispered in my ear,

"hmm... Interesting... What would you be, young miss Brockman...
Your father was a brave and just hearted man, as your mother was a wonderful
charmer who intended for the world to be better. Ah what a wonderful head to
sit upon. But you don't capture their traits." It let out a hissing laugh
in mh ear and I felt the blood rush from my face, "You, the girl who
changes everything to make it completely perfected to your witty little brain,
you, the girl who studied EVERYTHING so you wouldn't be left out, you, the girl
who created your own little world when the one around you was too cruel... Must
be..." I realized the key words just before he
spoke,"Ravenclaw!" Wit. Intelligent. Creative.

I took a sharp breath of disbelief and pulled off the hat, the brim
curled in my hand. I barely placed it down as I hurried to a table with a kind
eyed teacher in blue waving me over. I shot a look at Alexa and the girl waved
cheerfully back. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad. Slowly the numbers at the tables
increased.

"Novellus
Batman."

"Ravenclaw!"

"Tom
Riddle."

"Slytherin!"

"Collin
Wagner."

"Ravenclaw!"

The numbers continued to grow as boys and girls either slowly or quickly
gained their houses.

"Jacob Garson." I looked over at my friend who looked
sideways at me and have me a thumbs up. He placed the hat gently upon
his head and there was a long silence, after 5 minutes Jacob gave a small nod
and at that moment the hat then roared,

"Gryffindor!" He made a noise and hurried to the table where
the Professor from earlier stood and welcomed him, also allowing a loud cheer
from the Gryffindor table.

Then the next person was welcomed up,

"Alexa Wishard." The canary clothed lady called and Alexa
timidly stepped to the hat, pulling it on and her eyes disappeared beneath the
brim. It took a long while. It seemed Alexa was having a nice mental
conversation with the Sorting Hat, and then she suddenly burst out in a fit of
laughs and giggles. A second later, the hat called,

"Hufflepuff!" And Alexa was too busy laughing to be nervous
anymore as she took off the hat and placed it on the stool again, practically
skipping to the Hufflepuff table.

Food soon came after the calls for Katelynn and Davey. Who were both
Ravenclaw as it turned out, and obviously liked eachother.

Jacob strolled over and sat beside me at the Ravenclaw table, and
then yawned, stretching his arms. I looked up and watched him,

"Are you tired?" i asked just as his arm went
around my shoulders and pulled me closer,

"Maybe. Maybe not." He laughed, making my face about as red as
a Weasley's hair.

Then I
leaned over the table to Alexa's table and asked,

"What was so funny?" Alexa started to laugh again, and nearly
choked on the food she was eating.

"I'll tell you later!" She said brightly, her eyes alight with
inner laughter. It must've really been funny then. I couldn't wait to hear
what words the hat had whispered in the older girl's ear.
