Fairy Land Or Tomorrow

Chapter 3

‘Fairly
Land’ has been called many names; Neverland, Atlantis, and Narnia are among
them. Fairy land lore has been dating back centuries and none of these are completely
accurate or inaccurate. Fairy land goes by many names because it is many places. Fairy Land is not just one
place but many different multiverses filled with new and exciting creatures in
each one. The Fairy Land covered in this book, however, is commonly called Tomorrow.

Getting to Tomorrow

To get to Tomorrow you have to sleep but the first thing you
need to get to Tomorrow is a fairy guide or fairy godmother. Fairies typically
hang around forests when visiting the human world and so finding one isn’t that
difficult. Due to their vain nature they are easy to bribe and will accept anything
shiny or reflective, i.e. spoons because they can admire themselves in it. Once
that is done they will invite you to visit Tomorrow. Accept and have a nap!
Tomorrow is filled with various species such as Dryads, Sprites, Nymphs, Brownies
and Fairies. They are often weary of outside visitors so it is important to
bring a guide. Here is a short guide to the “hot spots” Tomorrow.

Brownie
Holes

Brownies are short, fat creatures. Usually about 1-1 ½ feet
tall, they have long folded ears, big eyes and stubby noses. They are tunneling
creatures and live in a valley with a series of tunnels running under it. Watch
your step when you walk through! They are hard workers and are excellent at
sewing, and cobbling. They are the main textile manufacturers of Tomorrow. They
are usually friendly but don’t offend them because they have sharp teeth and
their bite is just as big as their bark.

Dryads
Whisper

The Dryads Whisper is small forest on the other side of the
Brownie Holes. Its main occupants are Dryads of the Trees who protect the
spirit of the forest. The trees are closely knit together which gives the
forest a slightly ominous feeling and the wind that whips through it sounds
like whispers, hence the name. Dryads themselves are tall slender spirits which
take the shape of fair women except entirely moulded from wood. They are quiet
and are difficult to converse with as they tended to stand to close and don’t
breath which makes you slightly uneasy. They are harmless unless you tempt them
by hurting their beloved trees.

Sprites
Sprinkle
-Gabble Grotto

Found in the Dryads Whisper is a small stream known as the
Sprites Sprinkle. Look closely at the water and you will catch glimpses of
Sprites being washed along the water! Sprites are strange creatures that are
similar to Dryads in appearance though they have much less control over their
bodies since they are made of liquid and not solids. Follow Sprites Sprinkle downstream
until you reach a small bay where you will find Gabble Grotto, named that as it
is a popular meeting place for Sprites to talk about their days and gossip.
Overall the Sprites are a rather forlorn bunch and enjoy complaining, wailing
and blubbering loudly as they like making bubbles in the water. Gabble Grotto
is a nice place to look at but it’s rather loud and anything but serene!

Satyr’s
Theatre

This is the place to go to see all the residents of Tomorrow
at once. At the Satyr’s Theatre Sprites Sprinkle, Dryads Whisper, and Sand Seer
City all converge. The Nymphs (half goat-human creatures) put on nightly
performances of enchanting music, gut-busting comedic plays and the greatest
feasts you will ever eat! You must be very very careful however. Avoid fairy
food at all cost. Always ask before taking anything as fairy food is so good
that if you have it just once food will be ruined for you forever. Nymphs are good natured and great partiers. They are jolly
and kind. They do like their parties to last forever and getting away can be
very difficult. Be wary…

Fairies
Flit and Sand Seer City

The Fairies Flit is also known as the Fairy Highway. It
connects the Satyr’s Theatre with Sand Seer City, the capital of Tomorrow. The
Fairies Flit is shrouded in leaves and crosses the Sea Gloss, Tomorrows second
river. Sand Seer City is located on the other side of Sea Gloss and is entirely
made of white sand. Its towering buildings and spirals are held in place with
magic and it is the most beautiful place in Tomorrow. Sea glass is used to pave
the streets and as ornaments in architecture. The harbour is the hub of trading
goods in Tomorrow and the markets have merchants from other dimensions. The
jewel of the city, however is the great Sand Castle. It towers above the other
buildings and houses the queen of the Fairies: Queen Viola.
