Fairy Appearance And Communication

Chapter 2

Fairies are humanoid in appearance with wings that spout from the upper back between the shoulder blades. The wings resemble that of an insects and can come in a variety of shapes and colours. Some are also translucent.

A fairy anatomy is much like a humans but with two additional spines that connect to its wings, allowing it to move its wings faster. It also is an egg laying animal and has a separate reproductive system, that will be covered later in the book. The fairy population is predominantly female with a 2:1 female-to-male ratio.

Fairies communicate through vibrations from their wings which can travel quite some ways. They use it as a mating call and as a distress signal. Their actual voices are very quite despite being able to speak and understand English and other languages common on Earth. Most humans require hearing spells to be able to communicate.

Fairies dress in naturally made clothing of leaves, spun cotton, found objects from the human world and other various things. The production of goods like food, clothing and shelter are still in the early stages because fairy culture is still developing. They are actually hybrids of various other species including human, trolls, and pixies. They are very vain and that is why they submitted to being hung as decorations on human Christmas trees, etc.

In the next chapter we will look at where they live and other creatures in Fairy Land as well as how you can pay a visit to Fairy Land!
