1. An Introduction
!!! Dark Art: Term that covers anything that as an intent to harm, injure or even kill someone. !!!
a) The beginning
There is no begging, Dark Art as always existed, it is just like light. One can't exist without the other.
Dark Art is mostly used by those who want powers. Once you've started, you can't stop. The Dark Art will corrupt your soul. Just like it did with Tom Marvolo Riddle, more known as Voldemort. The scariest part? Dark Arts can NEVER be defeated, they can only be "hold back".
b) Some important dates
1981: Attack Harry Potter's family | Loses human form
1995 -1998: Voldemort workes to attain power after regaining human form
1997: Death eaters where in some significant place in the minister of magic | Voldemort pass several laws into action, laws that made Dark Art legal
1997-1998: Voldemort laws are official | Hogwarts is no longer teaching DADA, but "The Dark Arts", which taught the cruel and liberal use of some of the Darkest spells
c) The categories
The Dark Arts are separated into five categories; Dark Spells | Dark Potions | Dark Practices | Dark Creatures | Dark Artefacts
d) Dark Spells
!!! A Dark spell is any spell cast with the intent to harm others. !!!
The minister of magic as broken down this category into three other;
I. The Jinks: The first and lowest level of Dark Spells | They usually don't cause much harm and are considered to be more of a minor irritation than a serious problem | Ex: Tripping Jinx, the Stinging Jinx, and the Knockback Jinx.
II. The Hex: The second classification of Dark Spells| These can get a bit darker and often they will do more lasting damage | Ex: Bat-Bogey Hex, the Hurling Hex, and Densaugeo | They can be reversed by a Hex-breaker.
III. Unforgivable Curses: Those are the most dangerous and darkest classification of the Dark Art| Ex: Reductor Curse, the Full Body-Bind Curse, and the Conjunctivitis Curse| The use of any single one of these three curses will earn you a lifetime stay in Azkaban.
e) The Wand-Lighting charm
This spell will light up the tip of your wand. The light will look like the one that a Muggle flashlight would produce (a little bit yellow if cast well).
Name: Lumos
Pronunciation: LOO-mos
Wand movement: A counter-clockwise loop
Usefulness: Navigation in the Dark | Move away from Dark creature | and more...
f) Wand-Extinguishing charm
This charm will stop the wand-lighting charm
Name: Nox
Pronunciation: NOCK-ss
Wand movement: A flick of the wand
Usefulness: Stop the wand-lighting charm
