It was cold in the medical ward. Though, it could have just been the negative atmosphere that pulsed through any hospital setting. I sat next to David. The medic has taken care of his wounds, but he needed to stay here for a while as his eyes healed. He had missed the majority of his week 8 classes, so I was working with him to prepare for next week's exams.

"Today in charms we learned about the heating and cooling charm," I told him. It was hard to keep a smile on his face after what I did to him, but I faked it to help him stay positive. He asked me to demonstrate the charms. It came as a surprise when he asked me to demonstrate them since couldn't see the wand motions or the effects. But,this was all my fault so I did as he wished.

"Okay, first is the warming charm. You have to move your wand in slow clockwise circles and it requires a lot of concentration." I demonstrated the movement even though he couldn't see it. I focused on the spell as I said the incantation. Focillo. I willed the heat to strengthen and the cone of heat on my wand increased.

"And the other one we learned in class was the chilling charm. Its similar to the warming charm, but the movement is the opposite. You need to move your wand in counter-clockwise circles while you concentrate." I worked hard to concentrate on a cooling effect while I did the wand motions. Infrigido. He reached his hand over to feel the chilling cone on the top of my wand. He than congratulated me on how well I could perform the spell.

"What is the point if you can't see it?" I asked him.

"You messed up, but you can't let it get you down. You need to keep moving foreward, just as I will. You have so much fire inside you. I can see it every time I look into your eyes. If you keep working, you could be one of the most powerful wizards one day." 

Than despite him being being unable to see me, he reached over for me. I focused me eyes on his bandages, trying to remember the beautiful eyes that were hidden underneath. He learned forward and planted a quick kiss on my lips.
