Starting out as a new student at Hogwarts has been both overwhelming & immensely satisfying for Me personally as a diplomat.
In this time I have settled in and I am still introducing myself so pardon me.
So, to begin with, I am Amity Fox.
My father tells me I am a born sibyl;
As the Fox family legend goes;
Many generations of seers and sibyls were born in Fox bloodlines.
Direct descendants of Fortuna, the Roman goddess of luck and fortune, or lady luck.
Our family history is rich with Italian heritage, and even our homeland shares a covenant with the family name.
Divination comes to me as the gift of foresight.
I began my pilgrimage to become a higher priestess when I was 4 years old.
Literature and education were apart of my early childhood, from which I moved on to learning about Spirituality.
Academically I excelled, learning about magic, history and Divination as my major focus.
In practice, I performed sacred rites at the altar of traditional ceremonies.
My passion for the arts continued on into adolescence, and expertise.
My name is Amity, Im an academic student that is studying library science. Im looking forward to expand on my knowledge of languages and symbology.
Carved inscriptions of runes into stones and clay are as old as Ancient History itself, coming from all over the world in their very different forms. Runes were used widely by both the Early Medieval magical community aswell as muggles in Great Britain, many of these texts in Old English.
Mystery still surrounds some ancient glyphs in history that are indecipherable.
Number symbolism or Arithromomancy from the Greek arithmos [number] and manteia [divination] was practiced by the ancient Greeks, Chaldeans, and Hebrews; its successor is numerology and Gematria.
In these forms of number mysticism the letters of an alphabet are assigned numbers by some rule, typically A = 1, B = 2,…, Z = 26, or its equivalent. Words become numbers when their letter values are added together.
Icons such as the zodiac symbols and the planetary are designs with representations such as Mercurys winged horse and cadaceus, Mars' shield and spear, and Saturns sickle.
