Lesson 6) Applying your Will
Chapter 6
A Matter of Will:
-Willpower is metal power, similar to physical power for Muggles.
-Willpower is a person's ability to control their emotions, avoid bad temptations and make their thoughts and ideas known.
-Some spells don't require willpower.
-If you use too much willpower, then your spell can backfire.
-Sort of like pushing a heavy box
-Good way to practice willpower is meditation
-Concentration and willpower are two different things.
Levitation Charm, Revisited:
-The heavier the object, the more willpower you use.
-Minimal willpower was used when we cast it a few lessons ago.
-You need to visualize magic flowing through you to cast this spell.
Sticking Charm:
Incantation: Astrictus (a-STRIK-toose)
Wand Movement: The infinity symbol starting and ending in the center, encircling the two objects. (∞ )
Willpower: High; determines how long the objects will remain stuck and how hard they are to separate
Concentration: Medium; on the two parts that should be stuck together
