MAGICAL TELESCOPE SAFETY

-No fighting, throwing, or leaving your telescope to the environment
-Pay attention when moving with a open telescope
-Glass-lens are fragile
-has scratch-resistant and break-resistant charms on them, but still be careful
-keep lens cap on just in case
-each lens cap is attached to a string and the string is attached to the telescope from a Sticking Charm
-put your name on the outside of the larger cap
-Ask teacher if lens is broken

-Do not look at the Sun
-will damage eyes and magical properties of telescope
-keep cap on when not in use
-Do not look at the full Moon with a telescope
-can be seen with eyes
-destroy magical properties and lens
-keep cap on when not in use
-You can see what phase of the moon is on a day with a moon chart or Lunascope

-today it is in a waxing gibbous phase
-Moon does not produce own light
-Sun lights up Moon

-New Moon
-Cannot see anything
-Waxing Crecent
-can see a little on the right side
-First Quarter
-Can see half of the right side
-beginning fourth of the 30-day lunar cycle
-Waxing Gibbous
-3/4 of right side
-Full Moon
-All visible
-becomes a full Moon on the fourteenth day
-Waning Gibbous
-Last Quarter
-Waning Crescent

-Moon rises and sets at different times according to the Moon’s phase
-Gibbous and full Moons tend to be visible deep into the night

HOW TO USE A TELESCOPE: MAGNIFACATION
-Use large metal knob to zoom into Moon
-Uses magic to focus
-Zoom in slowly with small knob
-If you need to focus it manually, pull out the knob and turn it.
-Push the knob back into the telescope to turn on magical fucusing
