As the sinister moon gleamed through the narrow window, the room was filled with an unsteady silence. “Why?” questioned the blonde headed girl. Her thin fingers were playing with a baby blue ribbon that was once in her hair. She was practically quivering, and she could feel the tears nip at her blue eyes begging to let them run down her cheeks. A breeze came through the slightly open window, making the former Ombrelune student shiver. “I don’t want to leave,” she spoke, “Why must I go?”

The stern-faced professor turned her way, “Well darling, you are one of Beauxbatons brightest students, therefore we would like to experiment and see how well you do at a different school.” Then she added hastily, “ Since you do so fabulous here.”

“Fayre,” said the auburn-haired woman “ We are just trying to help you. Afterall, you do come from England. You’ll feel most at home since your mother is now teaching.”

Fayre looked down, “I-I understand Professor Pointe, but I’ll miss Toni and Jacquelyn…” she trailed off. Of course, Jacquelyn and Antoinette were on her mind. The trio had been very close ever since they were eleven. Raven haired Jacquelyn was much like Fayre in the personality department. They were both ambitious and fairly shy girls, they tried their best to stick together and not stick out. However, blonde bearing Antoinette was a different story, she was outgoing and in short, a social butterfly. Often dragging her friends to parties and social gatherings, Antoinette knew how to get around. She seemed to know just about everyone, and everyone seemed to like her. Jacquelyn hardly thought much of Antoinette’s talent with boys but Fayre thought it to be a useful skill that may assist her one day.

“I’m sure Ms. Foret and Ms. Brown will be quite fine.” replied the stern-faced woman.

“But Professor Thorn,” Fayre protested meekly.

“You have two days dear,” said the warm-faced woman. “I advise that you get started.”

The sorrowful girl bowed down her head. A tear narrowly escaped her eye. The tear didn’t stop flowing down her cheek until she flicked it off heading down the glamorous halls of Beauxbatons. To say that they were dull, would be an unfathomable lie. The architecture was simply fabulous and the luxuries were simply uncountable. But although it was intimidating, it was home. It had been home for five years. The school was also home to many different cultures, which made it worthwhile. It made her proud that her school competed in The Triwizard Tournament just last year. However, it was unfortunate that someone had perished and for no apparent reason. As sick as it sounds, Fayre was glad that it wasn’t someone from Beauxbatons, but from Hogwarts. Her mother now worked there, and she didn't know Fayre was coming back. It worried Fayre since her mother was known to be impulsive and quite stern. Yes, it was true, Fayre Umbridge was afraid of her own mother, Dolores Umbridge. As Fayre grudgingly walked down the glamorous and well-decorated halls, all she could do was feel anxious.

Luckily, soon enough she reached a darker corridor with gray flags adorning the walls and plenty more doors then the last. And if you had opened one door, the room would’ve looked small and dark, since it was nighttime. The room would also contain seven beds, one each lined up against the wall with rather tall and narrow windows. And currently, the windows were covered up by a sheer gray fabric, to represent their house. Their beds would be covered by fancy gray bedding with a sinister looking moon on the duvet. At this hour, there should also be girls sleeping. And hopefully, one would wake up and call an administrator. Then you’d be escorted out shortly after.

The specific room Fayre was going to, the girls inside were most certainly not asleep. And instead of six girls sleeping peacefully, there were two wide awake and awaiting Fayre’s return. As you know, there are seven beds in each room so instead, the girls used the other beds as furniture that did not occur to be in the room. Such as tables and extra storage trunks. The girls also practiced transfiguration on the beds. So every once in awhile they’d find a tuft of fur still attached to the bed from when they tried turning it into a bunny.

Fayre was now turning the knob of that room, slowly and quietly was how it was done to prevent someone from overhearing the girl’s late night meeting. After hastily closing the door behind her, she was relieved that no one had awoken. That was until she heard a very eager voice, “So,” they said, “What happened?”

“Toni hush.” said a sweeter tone. “She seems frightened. Fay?”

“You two should be in bed,” said Fayre sternly.

And to that, both girls laughed. Fayre scrunched up her nose in annoyance. “What?”

“When does that ever happen?” drawled Toni.
“Never!” piped up raven haired Jaquelyn.

Fayre crossed her arms, “I am disappointed in you Jacquelyn, you should be the one rushing us to bed.”

Jacquelyn waved her hand as if she was swatting away a meddlesome bug, “Fay dear, Toni grew on me.” And at that, the girls practically doubled over with laughter.

“We….are...gonna be…..in….so...much..trouble,” said Fayre in between giggles.

“So tell us!” cried Toni abruptly.

Fayre looked down at her feet, “I’m going to Hogwarts.”

Toni looked as if she were about to explode. Jacquelyn had a vaguely similar expression on her face. “That school?” exclaimed a startled Toni.

“Preposterous!”

“Unfathomable!”

“It’s Ludacris!”

“Spiteful!”

“It’s a disgrace!”

“Ridiculous!”

“UNQUESTIONABLY SILENT!” cried someone else. “Is what this room should sound like. Now Ms. Umbridge will be attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and she will represent Beauxbatons well and with utter respect! And not so much as a peep from either of you!”

A deep and sheepish blush formed on Jacquelyn’s face, “My apologies Professor, it was all my….” But before she could finish, Toni intervened quickly.

“Shush Jacquelyn! Don’t even finish that sentence of lies! We are allowed to have a little chat with our friend leaving forever thank you very much!”

The professor was appalled at Toni’s rash behavior so she immediately exited the room. This very same professor was nicknamed Professor Jekyll and Hyde, a term which means ‘Professor Bass was either extremely kind or extremely rash and cruel. And she would often be very indecisive about which one to stick with.’

The professor seemed to be the only one that was appalled by Antoinette speaking her mind since Fayre and Jacquelyn were no strangers to it. In fact, it had happened recurrently in Fayre’s stay at Beauxbatons. “You shouldn’t have done that,” whispered Fayre.

Toni laughed, “I very well should have. Now, I suppose you should get some rest, Fay. You've got a busy couple of days ahead of you.”

Fayre sighed hopelessly, “I guess you’re right, for once.” A few giggles filled the room’s unsteady silence as Fayre grudgingly made her way over to a bed on the far side of the room.

She shimmed under the soft covers and let her eyes close. She felt as if she could scarcely sleep. But then, that feeling was slowly replaced with the lovely and peaceful feeling of sleep.
