Legilimency

Chapter 4
Welcome Back! Today we will be reading about a rather fun topic that I have been looking forward to sharing with all of you! It's called Legilimency, the art of Mind-reading.

Methods of Legilimency

The method of Legilimency that we have been talking about for a few chapters now, has been Aura reading, the art of reading people's minds by getting past the barriers of their Aura. I am a fluent Legilimens myself, the method I use is Aura reading, but there are other methods to achieve this goal.
An Example for another method is through the classic spell: Legilimens. The spell Legilimens is advanced and can only usually be used by skilled practitioners. It allows you to automatically gaze into another's mind but it makes you feel very week as you read people, and it is often used as a concept of torture.
Another primary example of Legilimency technique, is when you make a potion called Veritaserum. You will learn more about this potion in Potions class, but I will briefly discuss it here. Veritaserum is a spell that allows one to not gaze upon another's thoughts, but to force them to say it. It is often used in interrogations and is usually referred to as the Truth-telling Potion.

Interactive Activity:
Make a Three-way Venn Diagram that shows the similarities and differences between the three methods of Legilimency.
