Chapter 6 - Submitting And The Results Of The Names

Chapter 6
Morning came. They were up on time and they went to where The Goblet Of Fire was. Then Professor Dumbledore came and took Linda to talk to her.
“Miss Granger, I wanted to ask you to be in charge by guarding The Goblet. If anyone that is under 17, they are not allowed near the goblet. If over 17, they can.”
“Yes, sir.” Linda answered. She stood behind the Age Line and waited for people. Then, he heard a familiar voice: it was Cedric. She already knew he was seventeen, by the look of his height and face. He went to The Goblet and put his name inside. Then, there was an applause. Seconds later, she heard Ron say:
“Three years from now, it will be either or probably the both of us to put that name in that Goblet.”
“Better you rather that me.” Harry answered. Then they heard a loud cheering: It was Fred and George Weasley, they were holding a bottle each of an Ageing Potion. They came and started:
“We got this this morning, nice and fresh.”
“It's not going to work.” Hermione sang.
They approached to her and Fred said:
“Oh really? How is that Granger?”
“This is an Age Line. Dumbledore drew it himself.” Hermione said, pointing at the Age Line.
“So?” Fred asked.
“Ugh, so, a genius like Dumbledore couldn't be possibly be fooled by an Ageing Potion drank by two idiots that try to put their name in The Goblet.” Linda snapped.
“Whatever.” they both said.
“I forbid you to enter the Age Line.” Linda says, trying to stop them.
“Oh, don't worry, we are going to drink our potions first. Ready Fred?” George asked.
“Ready George.” Fred answered.
“Bottoms up.” they both said.
Then, Linda tried to stop them from entering the Age Line, but they shoved her away, and they entered. As they put their names in The Goblet, they thought they succeeded, but they were pushed away and they turned into old people with white hair and white beard. Then, they started fighting. Everyone wanted to see them fighting, except for Linda and Hermione. Then they stopped. They saw someone coming: it was Viktor Krum. He went to put his name in The Goblet and then, Hermione started smiling at him as he went. Then Linda said:
“I know you kind of like him.”
“ Yeah, kind of. As if.” Hermione said, laughing.
Hermione went to her dormitory. Then, Linda heard a voice. It sounded more like Barty Crouch Jr.'s voice: it was him. She gasped and she ran away. Then she saw him do something that she was supposed to be looking out for: he was putting someone's name in The Goblet. Then, she wanted to scream, but, he got hold of her. Then Linda shouted as loud as she could:
“PROFESSOR DUMBLEDORE!”
At the other side, Professor heard the screaming and told Harry to follow him. Then he saw, Professor Moody holding her tightly. Then, Linda tried to let go of him and ran to Harry. He hugged her so tightly that they even kissed. Then Professor Dumbledore asked him:
“What were you doing Alastor?”
“Just protecting her from The Goblet.” Professor Moody answered.
“Well, it wasn't your duty to protect her because I told her to stand in guard so that if any person under 17 goes to put his or her name in The Goblet, she would tell them not to.” Then he turned to Linda:
“Miss Granger, you can now go with Mr. Potter to your dormitories and get some sleep.”
"Okay - sir, thank - you - sir." Linda said, panting. “But, sir, I told Fred and George to back off from The Age Line, but they didn’t listen.”
“Don’t worry, they will be dealt tomorrow.” Professor Dumbledore answered.
“Thank you sir.” Linda said, smiling. They both exited to their dormitories and also the professors. When they both reached to their dormitories, Linda kissed Harry goodnight and went to her dormitory to sleep.
Then next day, they gathered around in The Great Hall to hear the results:
“Now as you well know, the people that put their name in The Goblet, are going to be chosen by The Goblet himself.” Dumbledore said. He raised his hand and made every corner that had lanterns, he made them to turn off by themselves. Then, he heard the hissing and the whooshing of the Goblet and brought out the first name. He said:
“The first champion of Beauxbatons Academy of Magic is Fleur Delacour!” The french ladies applauded as Fleur approached to the front.
Another name came out and he read:
“The next one of the proud sons of Durmstrang is Viktor Krum!” The Durmstrangs applauded. Then the next one was:
“One of the Hogwarts champions is Cedric Diggory!”
Everyone applauded to that. But then, they saw the fire turn red and it flew out another name: Harry Potter. Then Dumbledore called:
“Harry Potter!”
Harry didn't move, but Hermione forced him out to show himself. Everyone was teasing him rudely and then he exited. Then, Dumbledore caught him and pushed him to the wall and asked:
“Did you put your name in that Goblet?”
“No sir.” he answered.
“Are you sure?”
“Yes sir.”
“But of course he's lying.” Madame Maxime said.
“I know how we can find out the truth. I'll call Miss Granger, tell her to come and explain if Harry did or did not put his name in The Goblet.”
“Good idea Dum-bly-dorr.” Madame Maxime answered.
Then, he called Linda and asked:
“Miss Granger, have you seen Harry put his name in The Goblet or did you put it in?”
“No sir,” Linda answered. “I didn't see Harry near The Goblet at all. Neither did I went there apart from guarding it. But, I know who did.”
“Who did it then?” Professor Moody asked.
“Well, it isn't the right time to tell you but, at least, Harry gets to compete.” Linda said, glancing at him and gloomily. Now, she knew that it was Harry's name that was put in The Goblet. They all turned at Harry helplessly. In the evening, at the Gryffindor common room, Linda told Harry:
“You must tell Sirius what happened.”
“OK.” he answered. He took Hedwig and wrote a letter to Sirius and gave it to Hedwig to take it to him.
