Unicorn
Chapter 2
A unicorn is a legendary creature that is normally seen as a horse with a horn on it's head. They are highly valued creatures in both the wizarding world as well as in muggle myth and legend, and have appeared in many films, stories and even plays. 'The Last Unicorn,' the muggle film created in the 80s has gained great popularity.
Unicorns are born of magic, and are magical creatures overall. Closely associated to the pegusi and muggle day horses, unicorns live in secret hidden groves in the woods, often appearing to those already "pure of heart."
Unicorn blood is known to prolong life however one will live a cursed half life. Such an example of this, would be Lord Voldemort feeding from a unicorn in Harry Potter's first year. Unicorn hair is also used extensively as a wand core, and is in fact the hardest core to get to turn towards dark magic. There are many stories that to have a unicorn appear before you one must be a virgin, or something equally as "pure" [yes that's right ladies and gents, even if you have had sex before you can still be pure at heart]. However many hunters believed the rumor of a virgin, so they would snatch someone from the local village, be it guy or girl, and lay a trap around them to capture the noble beast. Unicorn horns enter the black market because of their so called "healing properties." Back in the olden days around Merlin's time if one killed a unicorn they would suffer a curse. They would have to do three tasks in order to prove that they were indeed noble and selfless, and essentially pure of heart, just like unicorns are, to the Unicorn Keeper, and if they succeeded the curse would be lifted and the unicorn would be reborn again. It is also said that a unicorn's horn can heal sickness and make poisoned water clear and healthy.
Unicorns were often used on coat of arms, as symbols of nobleness.
