Chapter 2 - A House Elf In A Bedroom

Chapter 2
Harry went upstairs in his bedroom and as he opens the door, he sees a big-eared human creature jumping on his bed. As he turned, he said:
"Harry Potter, such an honor."
He closed the door fiercely and asked:
"Who are you?"
"Dobby, Dobby the house elf."
"OK, not to be rude or anything, but this isn't the right time to have a house elf in my bedroom."
"Dobby understands sir, but, Dobby has something to tell you. It's a bit difficult. Dobby wonders where to begin."
"Why don't you sit down?"
"Sit down? Sit down?"
He jumps out of Harry's bed and starts to cry. But, Harry said:
"Dobby, shush, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to offend you or anything."
"Offend Dobby? Dobby has heard of your greatness sir... but never has he been asked to sit down by a wizard, like an equal."
"You can't have met many decent wizards then."
"No, I haven't. That was an awful thing to say."
He goes near the drawers and bangs his head constantly against it.
"Bad Dobby! Bad Dobby!"
"Stop, Dobby. Dobby, shush."
The Masons wonder what's going on and Vernon makes an excuse to lie.
"Don't mind that. It's just the cat."
"Bad Dobby."
"Stop! Stop, Dobby. Please, be quiet. Are you alright?"
"Dobby has to punish himself, sir. Dobby almost spoke ill of his family, sir."
"Your family?"
"The wizard's family Dobby serves, sir Dobby is bound to serve one family forever. If they ever knew Dobby was here... But Dobby had to come. Dobby has to protect Harry Potter. To warn him. Harry Potter must not go back... to Hogwarts School Of Witchcraft and Wizardry this year. There is a plot, a plot to make most terrible things happen."
"What terrible things? Who's plotting them?"
He starts to shriek and grumble and he sounded as if he said "Can't say."
"Okay, I understand. You can't say."
"Don't make me talk. I--"
He grabs the lamp from the window and using it to hit his head so hard.
"Dobby. Dobby, put the lamp down."
"Bad Dobby."
"So when we arrived at the ninth hole..." He continued, but then he heard banging and he went upstairs.
"Give me the lamp." Harry said, trying to snatch the lamp from Dobby.
"Dobby stop!" Harry continued. He finally put the lamp down and grabbed Dobby.
"Let me go."
"Get in there and keep quiet."
He put him in his wardrobe and closed it. Vernon came in and shouted:
"What the devil are you doing up here?"
"I was just--" Harry tried to say and he tried to close the door so it won't open.
"You just ruined the punchline of my Japanese golfer joke."
"Sorry." Harry apologized.
"One more sound and you'll wish you'd never been born, boy. And fix that door."
"Yes, sir." Harry answered.
He kept on closing the wardrobe. He let go of the wardrobe and Dobby got out.
"Se why I have to go back? I don't belong here. I belong in your world, at Hogwarts. It's the only place I've got friends."
"Friends who don't write to Harry Potter?"
"Well, I expect they've been... Hang on. How do you know my friends haven't been writing to me?" Harry asks, suspiciously.
He looks so startled.
"Harry Potter mustn't be angry with Dobby. Dobby hoped if Harry Potter thought his friends have forgotten him... Harry Potter might not want to go back to school, sir." He keeps the letters with him.
"Give me those. Now."
"No!"
He chases him round the house and finally he reaches the living room where the Masons are. He spots a cake.
"Dobby, get back here." Harry says, in a low voice.
"He refuses and in a crack he makes the cake fly.
"Dobby, please no."
"Harry Potter must say that he is not going back to school."
"I can't. Hogwarts is my home."
"Then Dobby must do it, sir, for Harry Potter's own good." He makes the loud crack again and this time it floats under Mrs. Mason's head.
"It's spread as far as the eyes could see, all over the floor of this building."
He shoves Dobby and he tries to grab it.
"One plumber said ' Look at that water. ' Then the second plumber said ' Yes, and that's just the top of it. ' He tries to grab it, Petunia looks horrified.
"Mr. Mason." she said. "Vernon tells me that you're a wonderful golfer."
"I play, occasionally." Mr. Mason answers.
"Mrs. Mason." she says. "Where do you get your beautiful suits?"
"All my suits are tailor-made." she answers.
"Dudley. Was there something you wanted to say?" Vernon asked.
"Pudding."
"Pudding? What pudding?"
The cake still floats on thin air. As it reaches to Mrs. Mason's hair, with a loud crack, the cake falls on her head, in pieces. The Masons are really angry.
"Sorry, it's my nephew, he is a bit rough with people." Vernon said, disappointed.
Harry looks so disappointed that he turns to Dobby, but Dobby, with a loud crack, he vanishes out of sight.
