It’s eight in the morning, I just woke up, the others are asleep, but I dont see Liv anywhere, maybe she went out for a quick walk or something. I go out the front door and don’t see her, then i check the back and dont see her there either. I decide to call her, maybe she’s running an errand.
“Hey!” She answers, there are a lot of fairies around her, and it looks really bright. Where the hell is she?
“Liv! Where are you?” I ask.
“I’m in the capitol, running errands! Be back later!” She hangs up
Why is she in the capitol, and more importantly, when’d she leave, and most importantly, why?
Nora wakes up next and looks wild. I’d forgotton how crazy she is when she sleeps. But at least she doesn’t yell anymore.
“Mmm, good morning ChaCha.” She says in a very groggy voice, “Were you on the phone with Liv? Is she not here?”
“Hey, no she’s not. She’s actually in the capitol.”
“What the hell, why?”
“No idea.” I respond.
We exchange a look of both worry and fear of what she may be up to. Then I remember that Siren is here and I decide we should wake her up.
“Nora, grab the pillow.” Nora looks up and gives me a confused look, then she understands and grabs two pillows and then tosses one to me. We exchange a look then at the same time we each throw our pillows at Siren’s spot. No movement though.
“Huh? Siren! Wakey wakey!” I shout at her. Stil nothing though. Nora nudges the blanket to find that its just a pile of pillows.
“Now where’d she go?” Nora puzzles.
Suddenly we are flooded with the scent of bacon, and Siren walks down stairs holding a tray of bacon and fruit.
“Good morning! I made brekkies! Bacon and fruit salad!” Siren’s sing-song voice is heavenly.
“Oh shits I want some!” Nora returns and grabs a piece off the tray.
“Liv isn’t here, I’m sure you know,” Siren begins as she sets the tray on the coffee table and then takes a bowl of fruit salad and eats it while sitting on the floor, “She’s running an errand and will be back later.”
Me and Nora join her on the floor and each grab some fruit salad bowls and some bacon. Nora zones out while eating her food, then Siren brings her back to reality with a question about how she’s been living. This sparks a conversation about life.
We all enjoy our breakfast and some conversations, then Siren decides to take Nora out to visit the sealings. I decide to stay.
“I’m gonna go shower, I’ve got errands to run, anyways.” I decline, “I’ll see you guys later!”
With that I tread upstairs to the guest bathroom to shower. All of Liv’s soap is lavender scented, which I don’t particularly enjoy, but at least I won’t smell bad. As I shower I create a mental note about all the things I have to do today.
One, run to Noah’s house to pick up Charlie. Noah is one of my best friends, we met in school when I was 12, he was 13. He was in the class above mine, we bumbed into eachother in the hall while I was taking the old quills to the dispose and he was “getting a drink of water” which was code for wandering to kill time. I dropped off my ladybug, Charlie at his house while I spent the night here.
Two, drop off the check at Jordan’s for the classes this month. She gives me a huge discount and would probably let me take them for free, but I won’t let her.
Three, work on the bed by the creek, apparently the wild flowers haven’t been growing well, and I happen to be the best at flowers.
There’s probably more, but I’ll start there.
After I am dressed in a pink cropped tee and a pair of denim shorts, with some sneakers, I head out to start my day. First up, Noah’s. God, I need to see Noah. I make it to his house which looks the same as usual, kinda old, kinda falling apart. But, it’s also very homey.
We used to hang out at his house all the time, when mom would let me. His parents left him and he lived with his grandma for a long time, but eventually she passed away and left him the house. Even now, we hang out here all the time. I have my own bedroom here because we have sleepovers so often, I practically live here. I probably could if I wanted to.
I fly up to the house and knock on the door, I hear a faint “I’m coming”, but I just open the door anyway.
“Hey loser, I’m here for my baby!” I shout. He comes around the corner from the kitchen and has Charlie in his hands. I reach out to grab Charlie, then I hug Noah.
“He was a very good boy, as always!” Noah proudly announces.
“Oh yes, he’s the bestest!”
I set Charlie down and look at Noah. Noah’s somewhat tall, hes skinny, and kinda muscley, but not much there. He’s got brown eyes and brown, somewhat curly hair. It looks like he needs a haircut, but he probably won’t get one for a while. He’s also got a short gotee. Nothing to be too proud of though.
“How’s your sister?” Noah asks me. I realize i’ve just been staring at him for the past few seconds and shuffle, then respond.
“Oh. She’s doing better I think,” I determine if I should tell him about Nora and decide not to yet, “She’s running an ‘errand’ in the capitol.”
“The capitol? Why?” He puzzles.
“No clue.” There’s silence for a moment and I decide I should just tell him about Nora, “So, Nora’s back.”
He stops and looks at me for a moment. I know what he’s thinking about. Noah and Nora used to date, until the incident. They never offically broke up though. They had been together for years, then she ran off and never contacted him, or really any of us, but he was really beat up about it. It took Noah months to get back on his feet. Poor guy. I hated seeing him like that.
“Oh.” He finally gets some word out. I can tell it’s painful though, “How’s she been?”
“She’s been living on her own in a cottage in the middle of no where.” I explain to him that she was at the wedding disguised and how she decided she had to stay.
“Wow,” I can’t tell if he looks hurt, hopeful, or glad. One of those, “So, she’s staying again? Moving back?”
“Yeah. I guess so.” I tell him, “You could probably see her if you want.”
“Yeah!” He says then stumbles his words, “I mean yeah, please, maybe.”
“How about dinner? My house? 7?” I propose.
“Yeah, definately, I’ll be there.”
After I left Noah’s, I dropped Charlie off at the house and decided to walk to Jordan’s, I need the excersise. She doesn’t live far, and it’s a really nice day out. Sunny and warm, but not too bright and hot. There’s a a light breezze.
“Bread! 5 drees! Fresh baked!” The bread guy is out selling full and half loaves today. I pass him often on the way to Jordan’s. He stands on the corner. He does have very good bread.
“I’ll take a full loaf please!” I decide to buy a loaf.
“5 drees.” I exchange my drees for the loaf and continue on to Jordan’s.
When I get to Jordan’s, she’s out on the front lawn in a bikini trying to tan. Jordan has never been a real “girly girl”, but she has her weak spots. For instance, she has to be tan. She cannot live if she’s pale.
“Hey Jordan.” I smile and wave at her. Shes tall and tan, has long espresso locks pulled back into a ponytail, and typically is wearing some baggy shorts and a tee, tank, or sports bra. But right now, she’s rocking a maroon bikini, not too revealing, but good for a nice tan. Her gold rimmed sunglasses block her green eyes, and if I hadn’t known she liked to tan, I would’ve not recognized her.
“Yo! You caught me in my tanning hour.” She sits up on the picnic blanket she’s laid out and pats the spot next to her as if inviting me to sit. I sit and pull the check out of my pocket.
“I just came to drop off the check for this month.” She takes it out of my hand and sets it aside.
“Man, how’s Liv and Nora? I can’t believe all of that. Wild.”
“Yeah, crazy. Liv’s running errands today, and Nora’s with Siren.” She smiles and starts talking about some new tanning schedule she’s on. We have a long conversation before I head to the garden bed. It’s been a busy day.
