Chapter 2

The sound of water flowing through a nearby stream, and grass bellowing through the wind, had filled the air. I am standing under a big white tent, about the size of a circus tent. There are people I recognize all around me, but if I let them see me, see who I really am, I may start some drama. I didn’t want to miss it, this is the day that she has been waiting for since I can remember. My sister, Liv, is to be wedded today. The wedding is something straight out of some sort of home living catalog. Liv has always been that type of person, she always wanted to be the perfectionist.

From her long locks of perfectly curled auburn hair, her dewy skin, and her perfect, ivory tinted glistening wings. Liv truly is perfect. I’ve been gone for almost two years now. I haven’t spoke to anyone in that time. I’ve been living in a small cottage in the middle of nowhere, just between the talent realm and the sea realm. No one has come looking for me, that I know of.

I am wearing a silky black dress with long mesh sleeves, I have on some black heeled boots. My hair is a deep brown, but no one can see it that way, as far as they can tell, it’s blonde, and long. That is how the spell works. It’s like a mask, only I can see myself as I really am, only I can see Nora. The rest of the wedding guests can see Delila, that is the character I have created in my mind, that is the mask I am wearing today. No one will recognize me, if anyone asks me, I am a distant cousin on her father’s side of the family.

Liv’s family is complicated, it’d be easy to believe. My father had married her mom when she was 16. We were all a very happy family. I went off to study in my home realm, the wizard realm, when I was 17. I studied for 2 months, that’s when it happened. The same time that happened, my dad and stepmom were living there too. Liv and our other sister, Maddie, couldn’t come with because Maddie had to stay for her studies in the nature realm, and Liv didn’t want to leave the nature realm.

I haven’t seen any of these people since then, after that had happened, I shut down, and I’m still not totally back yet. My dad threw me into the ocean between the realms, they tried to jump in with me, but didn’t make it. I had to stay in the hospital overnight. I feel like it was my fault they died. If I wasn’t studying there, they may not have mooved back. And then I was the only one who made it out alive that day.

It was late at night the next day that I showed up at Liv’s door. I didn’t have anywhere else to go. Maddie was off at school, and Liv was the only fairy I could think of. I stayed with her for two days and left on the third. I spoke no words. And til today, I’ve only spoken to myself, and the walls of the cottage I found.

I look up to see everyone crowded at the entrance, I’m wondering what they’re looking at. I walked over to see wht they were looking at, and then I realized. Princess Addie has just arrived. Huh, I didn’t think her schedule would allow for such enjoyment. I thought she’d be too prestine. Guess I was wrong. She showed up with one of her bodyguards, that’s new.

Addie used to hang out with me and Liv a lot. I think she must be 20 now. Her mother, the queen, has always had everything planned out for her down to the tee. I always envied her, she got it all. Seeing her now, I can only imagine how stuck up she probably is. I think she started her queen training, she must be very busy. She used to talk about how much she was dreading having to start training, it’s so busy.

I’ve decided to pay no attention to her and avoid the crowd. I turn away and face the waterfall creek next to the outdoor ceremony area. I close my eyes and focus on just the sound of the creek water flowing and the waterfall slapping into the creek. Tap! Slap! Tap! This venue is so Liv. I honestly think it’s more Liv than Liv. There are vines and greenery everywhere you turn. Down the sides of the aisle, there are a line of multiple colored roses. Roses have always been Liv’s favorite, and from the looks of it, Maddie has definitly grown these ones.

Oh yes, Maddie! She almost slipped my mind.

“Haha! Yeah these were nothing compared to the dandelions I’ve grown!” I hear a girl laugh, and speak. It’s her, Maddie. It’s as if she was summoned by my mind. I recognize her laugh, I don’t even need to look at her to know it’s her.

I turn around and she’s surrounded by a few people. I don’t recognize any of them, except one. Her name is Jordan Lisp. I only know her because Liv used to date her. She’s an entertainment fairy. I liked her a lot, she was pretty nice. A few months after they broke up, Maddie started taking lessons from Jordan, Jordan was teaching her self defense, mainly because our parents wouldn’t let Maddie take defense courses. It was always in secret though, the only person who knew was me, I bet she’s still doing the lessons with Jordan.I’m actually shocked that Liv invited her to the wedding.

Maddie is wearing an ankle length navy blue sparkly dress. It’s cute, the sleeves are short, and she has a cute bracelet on, and black pumps. Jordan is wearing jeans and a button down, which is very like her. Suddenly a bell tolls. It’s time to start the ceremony.

I’ve decided to pick a seat on the groom’s side just in case. I also sit in the back. Maddie is on Liv’s side and she is sitting front row. I’m excited for Liv, but I can’t wait for this to be over.
