Chapter 1

  1. The Polyjuice Potion Song A take-off on "Double, Double Toil and Trouble" from Shakespeare's MacBeth, which is recited by three witches, this song recounts Hermione Granger's experience with Polyjuice Potion. Arranged for bass voice and piano. Here is the link: http://www.info2.uqam.ca/~walsh_t/music/Polyjuice_Potion.mp3

  2.  Voldy the Dark Lord Sung to the tune "Frosty the Snowman", this song recounts Voldemort's retrieval of his body and the refusal of sections of the wizarding world to believe that he was back. Arranged for bass voice, two trumpets, two trombones and a tuba. Here is the link: http://www.info2.uqam.ca/~walsh_t/music/Voldy.mp3

  3.  Healer, Healer The words were written by Karelin Lestrange as an assignment for a Year 3 Potions class. The Potions Professor, Professor Batyaeva, was so impressed by that assignment that she gave it the maximum 15 points and expressed a desire to have it set to music. I was so impressed with it that I set it to music and arranged it for soprano voice, bass voice and piano. The soprano part was sung by the golden-voiced Lucy Baeytorin. The bassoon that drowns out the word "you" isn't part of the arrangement. Here is the link: http://www.info2.uqam.ca/~walsh_t/music/Healer,_Healer.mp3

  4.  The Alchemy Student and the Facemask This song, submitted as an optional assignment in Year 2 Alchemy, tells the sad story of an Alchemy student who refused to wear a face mask in the Alchemy lab. It was arranged for bass voice and piano. Here is the link: http://www.info2.uqam.ca/~walsh_t/music/facemask.mp3

  5.  The Treevot's Curses. This song, submitted as part of the review essay in Year 4 Herbology, gives an account of the three curses that the Treevot, a dangerous magical plant, can cast on an unwary person. The tune was taken from parts of the tune of the song about the alchemy student and the facemask. It was arranged for bass voice and piano. 6. Tom Riddle Senior's Lament.  In this song, Voldemort's father laments how his affair with Merope Gaunt ruined his life, until their grown-up son puts an end to it.  Here is the link:
