Zanna Dumbledore, The Story of Me

By Zanna Dumbledore

Book One in the Seven (or eight I [The writer] haven’t decided yet) book series of Zanna Dumbledore and the struggles of having to be the officially unofficial “guardian angel” of The Boy Who Lived. Zanna’s lived in the castle of Hogwarts for almost fifty years, not such a surprise, considering the track record she has of accidental destruction, but that’s not the point. The point is this year, three years earlier than she and her father had planned for, not that they had planned for Lily and James Potter to be killed. Zanna is returning to Hogwarts for her eighth cycle of schooling, but considering she’s done it already skipping class is the least of her worries, as Quirrell and Harry duke-it-out on the chamber below the third floor, and she has to go in after them. She also may or may not be developing an unlikely friendship with the son of Lucius Malfoy, who swore to kill her the last time she and Blonde SR had seen each other, but everything will turn out in the end. Right?

Good-bye

Chapter 8
8 Zanna stood on the Platform across the Black Lake, the Hogwarts Express smoked steadily as it waited for its students to get on. It was the day that everyone dreaded at Hogwarts, the day they had to go home. Hugs and good-byes rang out across the station as students said good-bye to their Head of House and professors. Most of the students were getting off at Platform Nine and ¾ so they would have the entire train ride there to say good-bye. Zanna had been giving a lot of hugs that morning as students lined up to tell her bye or ask her to sign a book, which she had mostly sorted out without letting on that she still wasn't an actual student. Zanna hugged Hermione, both girls clinging to each other as the others crowded around them. "I'm going to miss you," Hermione called over the din as they finally released each other. "I'll miss you too," Zanna said. "I'll write and see you next year," Hermione nodded then walked off to get on the train. Harry walked up to her and extended a hand, "Thank you for your help," He said. She shook it, "My pleasure, you're going to be a great wizard someday," He nodded flustered and waved before walking off. Zanna hugged a couple more students and signed a few more books before the train whistled and they all rushed off to find their seats. "I'll see you next semester!" She called, waving. "Bye!" Coursed a large handful of voices. She felt a hand on her elbow and turned, Draco stood there, a bag over one shoulder. "I wanted to say bye," He shrugged. "Course," She smiled. "I'll see you next semester," He nodded, walking towards the train, then turned halfway up the steps, "Stay in touch okay?" She nodded, "Sure," "Thanks," Then he was on the train and it was pulling away, back around the mountain. She turned to Hagrid and the handful of Professors who had braved the platform that morning. "Well," She said tiredly. "Well indeed," Minerva said, turning towards the road that led around the lake and back to the castle. "I guess we started writing acceptance letters for the new semester," Zanna morphed into her adult form, "I suppose me do," They walked back to the castle together, Hagrid, Flitwick, and Sprout following.
