Charms 101 Journal!~

As a 1st year that kind of quit my academics *boo me* I figured it was time to try again! My main focuses this time around are Charms, Herbology, and Flying! I have an online journal for Charms but I figured I would copy it here to hopefully help another little first year!! Happy Learning!

Lesson 1 + 2!~
Chapter 1
Lesson 1 & 2 Notes ~
- Magic - Genetic
- Magic can skip generations
- Muggle-born children *children born with non magical parents* may also be able to harness magic (think Hermione Granger)
- Squibs are people with no magical ability but can use magical objects or tools.
- Visualize a glowing ball of energy as your center
- Magic = life blood
- Intention based magic is powerful
- Wingardium Leviosa = Levitation Charm
- Swish & Flick Motion for correct spell-cast
- Pronunciation, Wand Movement, Will Power, and Concentration = 4 Spell Casting Components
- One of the 1st spells known to witches and wizards ~ Hover Spell
- 2nd ~ Rocket Spell
- 3rd ~ Floating Spell
- 4th ~ Levitation
The hover spell is impractical and doesn't get much use.
The Rocket Charm does NOT require physical contact but objects can only be lifted vertically up and down a few feet.
However the Floating Charm can target distant objects but also only controls vertical movement and can also only be lifted a few feet up
The Levitation Charm does not need physical contact to cast and it can be used on humans. However this should only be done by an experienced ADULT as it can lead to injury.
The first 2 lessons were quite easy and fun! I was able to complete them all in the matter of an hour! The essay was enjoyable but I really did love lesson 2! ~ September 14th-15th, 2024
