Dear Lily,

How reassuring that you havent killed anybody yet. It made my day!

Nothing much has been going on here. My muggle cousins on my mom's side are over at our house for the next week, so my dad made me promise not to do any magical things while they're around. So I had to hide all my textbooks, quills, ink, and my wand. Things are just so boring! I was even forbidden to read any magical books! Can you believe it? No learning about magic for a whole week, how am I going to survive?!!! :-(

( Maybe I'm being overdramatic, but hey, you told me to entertain you! )

In the package attached to the letter are some muggle books which I borrowed from my mom. I know how much you like to read muggle stories so I picked out some of my favorites. I thought it would help you pass the time.

In exchange, do you think you could stop by Honeydukes and send me a bag of sweets and chocolate, I heard it's really good and I've been wanting to try them for a while and I don't think I can wait until third year when we'll finally be able to go to Hogsmeade.

I already wish we could be back at school. Nest to Hogwarts muggle life feels so uneventful.

In a couple weeks I'm going to the mountains in France and since I told my mom about how you were bored she told me that I could invite you to spend the week with us. I really hope your father lets you!
