America has more than 18 million cancer survivors, and every single one of them is celebrated every year on June 1st. National Cancer Survivors Day is a celebration of life led by the National Cancer Survivors Day Foundation.

The NCSD Foundation is a non-profit organisation supporting hundreds of thousands of hospitals, cancer support groups, and other cancer-related organisations. It helps to make people who are living with cancer live better by educating the public on cancer survivorship. Anyone who is living with cancer is considered a cancer survivor - from the moment of diagnosis to the end of their life.

There are many different ways of celebrating NCSD. Some people host a grand celebration. They can have themes, balloons, a cake, and sometimes even a special guest. Some are big, some are small, but all of them are centred around survivors of cancer. Some people learn about issues in cancer survivorship to educate themselves and others about this ongoing problem in the world. Many people raise awareness of cancer survivors. They do this by holding classes or Zoom calls about NCSD or asking people to donate to the foundation.

No matter who you are, you can celebrate National Cancer Survivors Day and raise awareness about it. So, make sure you join in on the celebration! Happy National Cancer Survivors Day!
