Go Hogwarts

Chapter 12

It brought the downfall of Voldemort; it was perhaps the greatest battle in the Harry Potter books; it revealed the truths and secrets we longed to know... yep, you guessed it! I'm talking about The Battle of Hogwarts! The Battle of Hogwarts is a battle in which people fought for loved ones and a better world. And it happened on the second of May. So today, I'm giving you a brief introduction to some of the outstanding behaviours (besides the golden trio) during The Battle Of Hogwarts that we'll never forget. Take out your time-turner, and off we go!

1."NOT MY DAUGHTER, YOU B****!" - Molly Weasley

This really was Molly Weasley's crowning moment. Throughout the series, she gives off the impression of a fierce yet loving mother. However, when she shouted at the barbaric Bellatrix Lestrange and duelled her to kill at the battle, she became one of the bravest Harry Potter characters. Her love for her children made her ten times braver than usual (and fiercer). Really, I don't know how I can thank Molly enough for finishing Voldemort's evilest right-hand man, or woman, for us!

2."I'LL JOIN YOU WHEN HELL FREEZES OVER, DUMBLEDORE'S ARMY!" - Neville Longbottom

Yes, this is the character we witnessed grow from a spluttering and clumsy little boy to a daring and courageous wizard, which we all admire. Although he fought gallantly at the battle, I think it was his special moment when he bellowed these words at Voldemort. Even after seeing Harry's "lifeless" body and hearing Voldemort's insults, he was still not willing to yield to his words, not even tolerating the Silencing Charm implemented upon him. He fought until the very end, supporting Harry and Hogwarts all along. Hooray for Neville! I'm sure your grandmother is very proud of you!

3. "PEIRTOTUM LOCOMOTOR" - Minerva McGonagall

Seriously, would Hogwarts have stood the slightest chance of winning without Professor McGonagall's help? Before the battle had even begun, she was already in action, from the sacking of Severus Snape to making Hogwarts spring to life. We know she'd never allow Hogwarts and her students to be hurt by the dark force. She'd protect them, doing her best to keep them from harm. I hope the Death Eaters learned this from her: never try to mess with Minerva McGonagall, or she might make you wish you were never born!

4. "TENTACULA, DEVIL'S SNARE, AND SNARGALUFF PODS. . . " - Pomona Sprout

She's always joyful and supportive. In other words, a true Hufflepuff. But when it came to The Battle of Hogwarts, she became fierce. We saw Professor Sprout's amazing skills with Herbology in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, having planted the mandrakes and brewed them into a potion with Madam Pomfrey. We saw her using her skills well during the protection of Hogwarts and later during the battle, throwing mandrakes at the Death Eaters. She clearly knows her stuff.

So, that's all I'm going to share with you about who fought like heroes at the battle. But don't worry, here's more! Now these are those whose behaviours made us warm from within.

1. "YOU'RE JOKING, PERCE!" - Fred Weasley

Hey, would anyone have the spirit of joking when there's a war going on? You will probably never find another one other than Fred and George Weasley. They brought happiness and brightness, even in the darkest of times. During The Battle of Hogwarts, Fred intended to make the atmosphere lighter by saying this to Percy : " You actually are joking, Percy. . . I don't think I've heard you joke since you were -" Yes, I know it's sad - now he's joking, and the next second, he's killed by the explosion Rookwood caused. Fred's sacrifice was perhaps the most unimaginable one in the story.

2. "EXPECTO PATRONUM!" - Luna Lovegood

We know that Luna was a bit weird yet kind and comforting during the series. And here she came, landing Harry a helping hand during the Dementor attack. It's she who cast her Patronus alongside Seamus and Ernie to chase away the Dementors, it's she who comforted Harry, always being bright, and told him to think of something happy, and it's she who granted the Golden Trio hope, having given a momentary distraction! Luna, Harry should be proud of having such a wonderful friend like you!

3. "IT'S GOING TO BE ALRIGHT." - Ginny Weasley

Ginny, we all know. Everyone knows she fought bravely during the battle - that's obvious! But has anyone ever noticed this smaller action of hers? When Harry was about to give himself to Voldemort, he saw Ginny comforting an injured girl. I assume you all know it must take a great deal to hide your despair while consoling someone, but knowing deeply inside your heart that you're also consoling yourself for you feel the same. That's the thing in Ginny's mind, and we surely can't deny that she's tough.

Conclusion:

All right, the tour ends there! I hope you've understood The Battle of Hogwarts a bit better, and do bear this in mind: there are many kinds of heroic actions. Heroes are not only those who go on adventures and save the day, but also those who stand up for loved ones or show kindness and bring happiness during dark times.
