Chapter 1

NOTE:

We have a few changes of names this month. The Hazel Antler that we know, has become Hazel Emory Antler, and the founder ‘Eleanor Raven’ is now ‘Sienna Lockwood.’

Hello to all readers! It was mid-spring, and the blossoms from the cherry trees started to sprout, and each and every one of us had a singing bird standing on our window sill to wake us up from our dreamy night.

April has been a wonderful month, filled to the brim with holidays, birthdays, and some particularly beautiful weather. Hogwarts this month has been a little bit sleepy, but nonetheless, there’s a ton of news that we’re sure your ears are just itching to hear, or your eyes are itching to read!

First up, we celebrated the twin birthdays of what are probably the wizarding world’s finest pranksters (sorry, Marauders!). Yep, you guessed it—Fred and George Weasley! With numerous students throwing pranks of their own to celebrate and others being even more engrossed in the April Fools spirit to commemorate, these lovable pranksters have certainly made their impact on the castle we all call home.

Another birthday made its appearance too—the famous Lupin heir, Edward—or, as most call him fondly, Teddy. While his parents died bravely in the Battle of Hogwarts, they left Harry Potter in charge of their newborn son as godfather. I’m sure Remus and Nymphadora would be delighted to see how their son is faring now (I hear his recent wedding to Victoire Weasley was quite the spectacle!).

Some of the wonderful holidays we celebrated this April include Easter, Eid Al-Fitr, and April Fools Day, which you’ll find torrents of information about inside the later chapters of the magazine.

Back to the main talk of the town at Hogwarts: the gossip is buzzing! Is it really true that a student got pranked eighteen times on April Fools? Man, I wouldn’t want to be that kid—I think I’d be traumatised for life! The other rumour circling around is even crazier—apparently someone set all the bludgers in the Quidditch shed free during practice, and three people ended up in the hospital wing! Poor them. And hopefully whoever did that gets caught; messing with those balls is really dangerous!

This month was filled with happiness and laughter. Hundreds of students celebrated holidays, and I’m sure we all smiled every single day. It warms my heart to see the unity inside Hogwarts—it truly is our home.

The saddest news of the month inside Hogwarts was the tragedy of Hiya Debnath’s departure. She was a wonderful friend to many and a very sweet person, even to those who didn’t know her well. Hiya founded and ran the Hogwarts Seasonal Magazine, which is now being run by Kyra. It’s unknown why she left, but all of us wish her the very best.

Now, read on for even more exciting news and fun tidbits, like the Recipe of the Month, National Pet Day, and Magical Moda!
