Welcome to Fantastic Beasts with Kenzie! Today we will be discussing Acromantulas, a very interesting creature. We will be covering their looks, the Ministry of Magic classification, their social behaviour, and a very famous Acromantula.

These wonderful creatures certainly look scary with their thick black hair and giant spider-like appearance. They have eight eyes that are usually black but can appear white if the creature is blind. They also have fangs that can excrete venom. They can grow to be over fifteen feet large!

According to the Ministry of Magic, these beasts are rated XXXXX, the most dangerous classification, and with good reason. They have a very toxic venom and a known taste for human flesh. Very few wizards or witches have ever been able to communicate positively with them.

Acromantulas live in colonies and are very social beasts. They are able to form emotional attachments to each other and, in a very rare case, to beings. It is also important to note that these creatures are the enemies of Basilisks.

I’m sure many of you are familiar with Aragog, a very famous Acromantula. Aragog was friends with Rubeus Hagrid and, despite his nature, was able to help Harry Potter defeat the Basilisk by providing valuable information as to where the Chamber of Secrets was.
