Highlights and Celebrations

Chapter 13

Hello readers, I hope you've all had a good month. Some of you, I'm sure, did! Students wanted to share some of their highlights with you because so much has happened this month!

News from Gryffindor: First, some news from Gryffindor. A first-year student completed an essay that required revision and received a perfect score. For students who occasionally feel like giving up, this is a great reminder that practice makes perfect—you won't always do it right the first time, but with persistence, you will get better. This month, we celebrated a lot of birthdays. A particular student worked with her friends to bake and decorate a massive birthday cake, which turned out to be a big success! In the communal area, they divided the cake between the rest of the Gryffindor's.

Hufflepuff news: 'Hufflepuffs and pets' is a club that a bunch of Hufflepuff's have founded. You can bring your owl, toad, cat, or rat to this club. You can create new Hufflepuff buddies and learn more about each other's pets! This month, a fourth-grader celebrated her golden birthday on the 15th—she turned 15! Claire and every other Hufflepuff who had a birthday this month have a belated happy birthday.

News from Ravenclaw: I'm thrilled to share that a student recently became an aunt! Nessa, congratulations! As for me, as a Ravenclaw member, I have three noteworthy announcements. First off, I joined the team as a journalist for the monthly news, and I couldn't be happier. In addition, I've been learning how to read Tarot cards, which has been challenging yet fascinating. And lastly, I've submitted an acting application for a movie! This is my first time applying for a job, so hopefully I get it.

Slytherin News: The month of February has been thrilling for Slytherins as well. Jack, a sixth-year student, recently purchased his first electric guitar and is eager to play it. He promises to play it without using any magic at all, just like muggles do. Jack, good luck with your learning! I won't identify the fifth-year kid, but he claims that avoiding detention this month is his proudest achievement. It's very wonderful that he says he is making a special effort to avoid difficulty for his mother. Finally, the cat of a third-grader produced kittens! Polly, Princess, Peach, Pansy, Pinkie, and Petal were their names, given to them by her. Adorable names!
