The Figure in the Darkness

Chapter 4

It was dark, darker than a piece of coal. Luckily, he remembered about his flashlight that he packed so he brought it out and turned it on. He noticed that the keys were hanging on a wall to the door and there was a stick on the floor. Matthew picked it up and delicately put it through the hole in the key. Now that Matt was free, he could look around at last. “What is this place?” He said aloud. “Your doom!” Screeched a voice from somewhere. Matt suddenly saw a stairway spiralling to a large, disgusting room. Then, came out of nowhere, was the figure in the darkness.
