~Obituary~

We are sad to announce the death of Filius Flitwick, who died peacefully in his sleep yesterday evening.

Born October 8th, 19--*, Filius Flitwick attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and was sorted into Ravenclaw house. He quickly became a duelling champion and excelled in his studies at school. After graduating, he became a Professor of Charms - and later Head of Ravenclaw house - at Hogwarts. In 1989, he became the Conductor of the Hogwarts Frog Choir, one of the newer traditions at Hogwarts which continues to this day. In 1991 he performed the incredible spell responsible for causing winged keys, which played a major role in protecting the Philosopher’s Stone.

During the Battle of Hogwarts, Flitwick was mostly behind the scenes. Nevertheless, he played a major role in the protection of Hogwarts and its students.

After the battle, he went on to serve as professor for 15 years, before retiring for 3 years. He remained in Scotland, however, and students occasionally bumped into him on their Hogsmeade weekends.

R.I.P Filius Flitwick. He will be sorely missed by all those who knew him and I’m sure the students and staff of Hogwarts will be devastated at the loss of their beloved Professor and Head of Ravenclaw House.
