Chapter 5

A loud clanging noise jolted Leela from her sleep. All around her, women and girls were getting up and forming two lines facing the door. Four guards strode in, holding a couple long ropes with wrist shackles attached. They walked along the lines and hooked everyone to the rope. Then they were forced outside, through a maze of hallways. Leela smelled fresh air, and soon a huge field of potatoes came into view. She was taken off the rope and copied the others, who were walking towards the field. By the end of the day, Leela was starving and her back was aching. Eventually they were marched inside and each give a small bowl of lukewarm tasteless soup. Then they went to bed. Leela woke up in the middle of the night with something stabbing her in the side. Her bobypin! She hadn't been searched, so she had it from before she was captured. A chance of escape!
