The Mark Of Izoria And Izoria Mist

Chapter 1

The mark of Izoria is invisible to the naked eye and appears on all humans. Although there are varieties in different cultures with regards to the shape and size of the mark itself, it is generally regarded to appear over the third eye (between a persons eyebrows) and appear as a circle with an infinity symbol inside it. The mark acts as both a protective layer over the third eye whilst also allowing the mind to project dreams and memories into a form that the senses can create (such as replicating smells and sounds). It is also worth noting that a persons emotional state can also impact upon the strength of the protection the mark offers - people under high amounts of stress or suffering fatigue are likely to have weaker marks and can become susceptible to being attacked by Izoria mist.

The Izoria mist ( originally known as gweledigaethau twyllodrus) is not a sinister creature intentionally, it does however have a parasitic nature. It appears as a slightly white mist, which allows it to move freely without suspicion (particularly in areas known for fog, mist and clouds, such as the Welsh valleys and mountains, or in areas where a large amount of gases or smog is present, such as Times Square). How it survives is by finding a victim, particularly those who have a weakened mark of Izoria, and feeds upon their emotions and memories temporarily until it has gained enough energy to continue. Muggles are often  aware that they are being fed off by seeing things in the corner of their eyes, such as figures or shadows, or by feeling they have glimpsed someone that they know should not be in the area for some reason.

While there is no way to prevent being a victim of Izoria mist, it is highly recommended that you ensure that you maintain a high level of strength on your mark of Izoria. The best way to do this is to carry out the Invigoration Charm upon yourself by placing your wand against your third eye and saying amddiffyn fy meddwl (am-th-e-f-yn ve meh-th-ool). When done correctly your should feel a cool sensation spread across your forehead and see a light blue glow from your wand.
