Chapter 1

Zayna was in her room with her friend Zoe, she was sitting on her bed while Zoe was pacing the room. “I know your super worried about the Elemental Trial so let’s try to get you prepared” Zoe suddenly says. The Elemental Trial is a test that everyone in Elemilenti had to go through when they turned 12. “What?!?! I’m not worried at all ! what are you talking about?!” I say, hoping she doesn't believe that I am nervous. But of course, she does. “Seriously Zayna! You don’t have to hide it from me! I’m your best friend, you know I wouldn’t tell anybody!” “I know,I know. It’s just, nobody else seems so excited about it and I am a nervous wreck!” I exclaim “Everybody gets nervous, they just don’t show it all the time! I was freaked out when it was my turn!” Zoe was 1 year older than her so she had already went through the Elemental trial. “Okay, Okay. let's look at all the elemental powers and study them again.” “Fine, but you do know that this is a test that you don't have to study for? Right?” “I know I just want to be super prepared!” I hope off my bed and sit down in my HoverChair and push off my bed to my HoverDesk. Zoe pulls up another HoverChair beside me and sits down. I click on the search bar and type in, “Elemental Powers”. The same website as always pops up, “Elements/your/Powers.com”. I click on the website icon and go to the website, a loading icon appears on my screen. “While that loads I am going to grab us some FireChips from the kitchen, do you want Cinnamon or Hot Pepper?” Zoe asks. “Okay, and i’ll take the Cinnamon ones,” I respond “Okay, Got it, I’ll also get some Iceaid for us.” Zoe Runs out of the room and downstairs into the kitchen. While Zoe is getting the Chips the website finishes loading and and twelve words appear, “Fire, Ice, Water, Wind, Earth, Animals, Creativity, Gravity, Moon, Sun, Sound”. I click on “Fire”, The words disappear and more words pop up. I start to read them. Fire is one of the four original elemental powers, people with the elemental power of Fire can con-. That’s all I get to read before Zoe comes back with the chips and drinks, she hands me a bag FireChips and a bottle of Iceaid “Thanks” I say. I open up the bag and see the firey red chips that are inside. I reach in and grab one, I bite into it with a crunch. The chip seems to lite on fire and explode with a cinnamon flavor in my mouth.I shove one after another in my mouth, my mouth is burning with the sharp cinnamon flavor. All the while Zoe is pacing and eating behind me. “What’s with you and pacing?” I ask I turn around to see her stop pacing and stand still. Suddenly a hand appears out of nowhere, just floating in the air, just a hand. It reaches up towards Zoe’s neck. It grabs her neck and pulls her backwards. She disappears into thin air with a look of horror on her face, the hand disappears too. I rush toward the empty space where Zoe was just standing. “ZOE!!!” I scream while grabbing at empty air. “NO!!!!! NO, NO, NO!! Zoe where are you??!” I scream and collapse onto my bed, crying and sobbing. I almost forget about the Elemental Trial.
