My Handbook of Duelling

written by Hiya Debnath

This book was created by me as a handbook of duelling using information from all the lessons covered at Hogwarts in different subjects from the first year to the seventh year at Hogwarts along with my personal tips for duelling to guide others and me and help others and me in my duelling practice and in my duels in the wizarding world. You will not find the rules of engagement in this book, because I believe you already know it, but you will find a lot of basic and advanced information about and for duelling, that will be helpful and useful to you and me.

Duelling Spells- Jinxes- The Anti-Apparition Jinx

Chapter 20

Effect: - Prevents opponent from apparating into a designated area. This is not a duelling spell, but though very rarely, you can think out of the box and use this for duelling.(think of creating a range around yourself which the opponent cannot apparate into, if he is giving you a hard time during duelling, apparating and disapparating, or think of protecting your home and home's grounds from apparating dark wizards)

Spell Type: - Defensive, most often used to protect an area from apparating intruders.

Spell Block: -

Incantation- Potest Intoir, pronounced as poh-TEST eent-WAHR.

Wand Movement- A wave across the area to be guarded.

Willpower- Strong, Must be stronger than the will of those trying to get in.

Concentration- Strong, Must imagine an impenetrable wall around the area to be guarded.

Please note that there is also an anti-disapparition jinx, which is discussed below.

Effect: - prevents an intruder from disapparating from an area. This is more likely to be useful in duelling as you have effectively trapped the opponent or an intruder in a certain area if he has no other means of escaping. You just need to think out of the box for it though.(think using the Fire-Making Charm to create a ring of fire and placing the anti-disapparition jinx on the area to prevent the opponent or intruder from getting out of it, or think of using Brachiabindo or the Full-Body Bind Curse or the Incarcerous Spell, and then after removing the opponent's or intruder's wand from their person, place the anti-disapparition jinx on the area, effectively trapping them in the area)

Spell Type: - Offensive or Defensive.

Spell Block: -

Unknown to me. If anyone already knows it or gets to know it, please get in touch with me and help me by letting me know it.
