Chapter 2

That night Maddie waited and waited until everyone in her dorm was sleeping. "I need to know what happened to that dragon" she thought as she climbed out of bed. she was paying close attention for any sign of a professor near by. but, she heard nothing, and saw nothing. The hallways had no life. "this would be a lot more safe if I had the cloak of invisibly" Maddie thought while she tried to keep her breath quiet. finally, she got outside. "I've snuck out so many times" she though. "why do I feel nervous about this time?" what Maddie saw in front of her answered her answered her question. the forbidden forest. "but I'm not scared of anything" she whispered to herself. "nothing at all" The forest was quiet except for her loud feet, crunching twigs and leaves. she continued to walk, deeper and deeper. Thats when Maddie saw what she was looking for. The dragon. The dragon was tied up with thick rope. He was bleeding in a few spots too. He was hard to see even in the dim light of the moon and stars because of his grey-brown scales. The dragons eyes wear closed and it breathed slowly. "so it's sleeping" Maddie figured. "wait...if the dragon is tied with rope..." she wasn't the best at solving puzzles but this one, she felt she had to. "then that means there is someone in the woods who is using magical creatures for a very twisted reason" Maddie said aloud. "oh and you're very right" a voice echoed behind Maddie.
