chapter one

Chapter 1

Mattie was sitting on her bed. The window curtains hung there like huge banana peals, emotionless and pointless. she jumped up and headed toward class. The first class today was Herbology. Mattie's favorite class. once she got to the green house, she looked around to see plants dangling from every witch way. thats when Mattie saw what was placed on the table, devils snare. she had heard about it but never ben this close to an actual snare vine. then, a group of friends walked into the Herbology room. and another. and finally the last of the students arrived. "alright, today we are going to learn about Devils snare" prof sprout started. "does anyone know about Devils snare?" she glanced at me but didn't ask me to answer. one boy raised his hand. "they die in the sun and...." he trailed off probably trying to remember what he read the day before. Maddie wasn't listening any more. She was staring at prof sprout but focusing on two kids behind her. "yeah, she's the emotionless one" "emotionless?" said the second voice. "isn't that impossible?" once again, something else stole her attention. A dragon way in the distance, flying above the forbidden forest. majestic really. all of a sudden, the dragon was plummeting toward the ground until Maddie couldn't see it anymore. and then Mattie knew what she was going to do at midnight tonight.
