Lily Dumbledore

written by Lily Dumbledore

This is my story as a girl who had a lot to live up to, my uncle being the famous Albus Dumbledore. Written by me and my best friend Davis (who isn't supposed to be writing in it but sometimes I allow him to take over a few chapters in which case it will be clear that he's the narrator.)

No, that's not possible

Chapter 14

I'm going to fastforward a few weeks.  >>>>>>>> Yep, just a little more >>>>>>>>>> a bit more >>>> Stop. So now it's the Christmas holidays.

-------------------------

Davis said he was going home for the holidays. Some family stuff, he said vaguely. So I was stuck with two options. One: stay at Hogwarts for the whole holidays, or two: go home for a week then come back, because I am definitely not staying two whole weeks at Hog's Head doing errands.

I ended up picking option two, because I needed to confront my dad about the whole dream business. Besides, uncle Albus said he'd come over too, so that would be my chance to discover the truth. I decided to stay at Hogwarts for the first week, because rumour has it, the festivities are awesome!

So in short, I had the best time hanging out with friends, opening christmas crackers, playing chess, doing snowball fights etc...

Unfortunately, the week ended too fast, and it was time for me to trek home. Suprisingly enough, Albus caught up with me in the courtyard, and told me he was accompanying me all the way and has staying over night. The trip was awkward as we walked in silence. Finally, we had arrived, I hugged dad (ok, yes, I did miss him a bit), went upstairs to put my bag down, then went back downstairs. The pub was closed since it was new year's eve, so I found Albus and dad sitting down at one of the tables, waiting for me. I sat down, feeling a little nervous.

"So," dad said at last. "Albus said you two had a chat?"

I nodded, looked at my feet, waiting for the worst to come.

"Well in that case there's no point in hidding it from you any longer."

I looked up, realising that this was the moment I had been waiting for for a long time.

"So," started Albus. "We talked about what happened in your dream, but I never told you why. The truth is, our family blood is special. I wouldn't say it's cursed, but there was a prophecy that was made a long long time ago. It talked about a Dumbledore that would die, then re-live through a new Dumbledore in another generation. It also said that this would happen when the conflict that started it would end. Now, we believe that the conflict the prophecy talks about was the conflict between me and Grindelwald. As you already know, Ariana died due to that conflict, and you were born just as that conflict ended. This might come as a shock but it's possible that the prophecy is about you. You are the one that was born as the conflict ended, and you are the one through which a Dumbledore was re-lived."

He paused there then looked at me in the eye. "Ariana, our sister, is re-living through you."

That was it. I stood up, having had enough. "No. That's not possible. That's not me it just can't be. It can't... no, I don't believe it..." That was the last thing I remember saying. I don't even remember hitting the ground.
