Wesen: K

Chapter 16

Wesen in the K category.

Kallikantzaroi:

A Kallikantzaroi is an adolescent Indole Gentile (see Wesen: I) with a rare genetic disorder.

When an Indole Gentile changes into a Kallikantzaroi, they gain bestial facial features, large pointed ears, fur, claws, and glowing green eyes. They are known to produce a horrendous stench. They are quite fast and fairly strong, able to knock down a full grown man and drag him across a room. They also have an enhanced sense of smell, which they can use to locate other Kallikantzaroi. They seem to be somewhat durable, as one fell off of the roof of a house and got up without injury, and another was hit in the face with a frying pan but got up fairly quickly afterwards. However, they can still be knocked out if they are hit or punched in the face or head.

Kallikantzaroi are unaware of their true nature, as they only change at night during the twelve days of Christmas and do not change back until sunrise. This condition is only known to affect Indole Gentile children and is very rare. If Kallikantzaroi are allowed to eat large amounts of fruitcake, they will be cured of their condition at sunrise and return to their natural state.

Kallikantzaroi are infamous for wreaking destruction on Christmas decorations. While they will go for any Christmas decoration, they are particularity drawn to larger, more elaborate decorations, particularly Christmas trees. Despite their seemingly mindless habits, they have been known to employ strategy in their holiday escapades, such as hiding in gift boxes left on their intended targets' front porch and emerging at a later time to let others inside the house.

Kallikantzaroi are not afraid of Grimms but are scared of Blutbaden.

Königschlange:

Königschlange (KOE-nig-shlaa-nguh) is a king cobra-like Wesen. They are highly suspicious creatures and are very rarely deceived

Königschlange have incredible senses, particularly smell and touch, and are sensitive to temperature and can detect weak vibrations. Their acute senses are not foolproof, however and anyone who is under the effect of the Dead Faint Potion (I'm sure you can guess what this means) can trick a Königschlange into thinking they are dead.

Because of their unique skill, they are generally sought after by those wishing to unmistakably confirm an individual's death, as well as being a living lie detector of sorts. In short, they typically find employment through exceptionally shady avenues.

They also have sharp fangs that release a deadly toxin into whatever they puncture. Königschlange are extremely fast and have incredible reflexes that far exceed that of a Grimm. When Königschlange combine these traits with their impressive physical strength, it enables them to go toe-to-toe with Grimms. Königschlange possess superhuman strength and are strong enough to fight with a Grimm.

They are an extremely unpleasant and dangerous Wesen species. They are so dangerous that even Blutbaden fear them, and their name is enough to provoke fear in other Wesen. Königschlange also can be somewhat sadistic and enjoy intimidating others.

Features:

When they woge, their skin turns scaly and a distinctive hood forms. They also gain a serpent-like tongue and long fangs.

Koschie:

Koschie (KAH-shee) is a radioactive, skeleton-like Wesen. It is known in Russian Folklore as a 'mythical' creature.

Koschie have the ability to heal other beings of serious injuries and aliments. Sometimes the injury or ailment heals instantaneously along with any pain associated with it, while other times the pain lingers for a while, but gradually goes away over time. Koschie can also afflict people with serious radiation poisoning, which will kill the victim within a few days. The dosage is so high that the afflicted area will still be "hot" a few days later. The use of both abilities, particularly the healing ability, puts stress on their bodies and weakens them the more they use the ability. If they use their healing ability too much, it will eventually kill them.

Koschie possess superhuman strength and enhanced reflexes. This allows them to turn the tables on their attackers even if they are ambushed. Koschie are also extremely hard to kill, as shown by Gregori Rasputin, who was a known Koschie and survived several assassination attempts on his life, including several gunshots.

Koschie are very free-spirited, in the sense that they have a very large libido and often use their reputation as healers to woo females. Using their healing abilities also "fires up" their sex drive. They enjoy drinking, they remember the names of everyone they've killed, and they can feel very remorseful after taking a life. They sometimes use their ability to heal to make up for the lives they have taken.

Features:

When they woge, Koschie gain an almost sickly appearance. The sclera (whites) of their eyes turns jet black while their irises turn a radioactive green. Beneath their translucent skin are visible glowing green veins and, through openings in their misshapen skull, portions of brain matter that glow the same shade of green.

Further adding to their sickly appearance are rotten looking teeth, which due to the Koschie's translucent lips and skin, are always visible even when the mouth is closed, and their lack of hair. Koschie can focus their woge to just their eyes and their hands.

Krampus:

Krampus (KRAAM-puus) is an anti-Santa Wesen resembling a wild sheep. According to legend, he appears before Christmas and kidnaps naughty children who he keeps up in the tallest tree at the tallest spot. He does this with the intention of eating the children and then disappearing for a whole year.

Despite his unique appearance and heavy outfit (below), he is capable of high levels of stealth, as none of his victims were aware of his presence before he spoke, and he could effortlessly disappear within a city despite being unable to guise himself as a human.

Krampus is extraordinarily strong, even by Wesen standards. He is capable of lifting struggling humans effortlessly with one hand and carrying them about with no discernible impairment. He is able to not only match blows with a Grimm, but even gain the upper hand in a fight.

Even among Wesen, Krampus is unique. He is not aware that he is Krampus or even Wesen. He is only able to woge from the first of December to the twenty-first when he enters a state of constant woge so fixed that even the loss of consciousness is unable to cause him to revert. It is during this time that Krampus can be said to actually exist.

Krampus hunts naughty children and adolescents, admonishing them for their bad behavior before beating them with a wooden switch and stuffing them in a large sack, leaving a large lump of coal behind at the abduction site. This coal is natively found in a mine on the highest arctic reach, near the North Pole. Upon abducting the children, Krampus hangs them from baskets like ornaments in the tallest tree in the tallest spot on the land with the intention of devouring them on the night of the Winter Solstice.

As Krampus exists for only three weeks out of every year and his human self is completely unaware of his Wesen self, Krampus has no culture of his own and is thought to be mythical even by other Wesen. The relationship between the Wesen and human form is described as a "Jekyll and Hyde-like" relationship, with the human side unaware of its true nature and the Wesen side acting completely on its own accord.

Features:

When woged, Krampus chooses to wear a Santa outfit and has sharp teeth, curled horns, claws, and a flaming, red-forked tongue.
