Hermiones P.O.V

The rest of the wedding went by in a blur. Hermione didn't feel like dancing or even talking to anyone. She just sat at the table with a drink watching the rest of the people at the wedding having a great time. She didn't see Ron again for the rest of the night she figured that he had just went back inside and went to bed. She couldn't help feeling guilty with the way things ended between them but she knew it was the right thing to do. When people started to leave Hermione went over to Ginny and Harry, congratulated them again then said good night and went inside and got changed into her pj's. 

Hermione didn't go to sleep though she just lay on her bed thinking. She was going to go back to Hogwarts to redo her seventh year because last year was disrupted y the hut for horcruxes and killing Voldemort. She hoped that she could have a quiet year at Hogwarts without Voldemort of escaped prisoners disrupting it, but deep down she knew that she would never have just a quiet year at Hogwarts. She was really excited to be going back she had missed it so much last year, but she was also really nervous she knew that things were going to be different, she wouldn't be treated the same. She is a heroine in the wizarding world, she is part f the golden trio that brought down lord Voldemort. All Hermione wants now is to spend her year at Hogwarts studying, reading and spending time with her friends, is that too much to ask for?

Just then Hermione heard the rest of the Weasleys get back, she decided she would just try and get to sleep now so that she wouldn't have to talk to anyone. That night Hermione had a nightmare, she was back with Ron and it was during the war when they were searching for horcruxes. It was the night that Ron left she was running after him trying to stop him before she heard a loud crack and he was gone. She broke down into tears she couldn't breath, it felt as though someone had stabbed a dagger into her heart and was twisting it and was doing this over and over again, she couldn't bear it. She stood up and walked slowly back towards the tent, she didn't know if she would ever see Ron again. It was now a few weeks later she still hadn't  heard from or seen Ron. Harry and herself were in Godricks hollow, being attacked by a snake, when she hears a scream it was a mans scream though. And he was screaming her name. She stunned the snake and ran to where the source of the noise was, that's when it stopped. Everything was silent, then she heard a loud crack. She ran to where it had came from and what she saw was horrendous. Ron was lying on the snow covered ground, he was dead. 

Hermione was awoken suddenly by someone shaking her. She was crying and couldn't catch her breath. Ginny was looking at her with a worried look on her face. 'Hermione? Are you okay, you were screaming in your sleep? What were you dreaming about?' Ginny asked quietly. 'It's nothing. I'm sorry I woke you. Pleas go back to sleep and don't worry about me.' Hermione said still panting. She had been screaming in her sleep and she didn't know why this dream had suddenly started. Then she remembered it was because she had broke up with Ron, she had fallen asleep thinking about him so she had a dream, well in this case a nightmare, about him. 'No Hermione it is not nothing, tell me what happened?' she asked still looking worried. 'It was about Ron, during the war when he left us when we were searching for horcruxes.' Hermione said with a sigh. 'I'll go get him' Ginny said running out of the room. Hermione jumped up and ran after her but Ginny was already in Rons room. Hermione shook her head she was going to have to talk to Ron.

Ron came out of his room with Ginny and Harry seconds later, Ginny had obviously woke both the boys up. Hermione sighed again still crying, she couldn't look any of them in the eye. Suddenly she was held in someones arm and it was a familiar scent, it was Ron. Hermione couldn't figure out why he would be trying to console her but she was happy he was. Ron walked her into his room with Harry and Ginny following close behind. Someone closed the door behind them and Ron sat down on his bed with Hermione holding her close and just letting her sob into his shoulder. After a while where no one spoke, Ron said 'Do you want to tell us what the bloody hell happened in that dream that got you in such a mess?' 'Ginny didn't tell you anything?' Hermione asked looking up to on then to Ginny and Harry, all of them shook their heads. Hermione took a deep shaky breath and began to tell them what had happened in the nightmare. No one said anything for a minute then Ron finally spoke. 'You know that didn't happen. I am so sorry I left you that night, but I was getting frustrated with the fact that we hadn't got very far and wearing the locket all day didn't help matters. You know I wouldn't have hurt you like that if I hadn't been wearing that thing all day and I am really sorry to have put you through all of that pain.' Ron said slightly shaky. 'Hermione, you know how I feel about you and I am really sorry for everything.' he said with a tear rolling down his cheek. 'I know Ronald, me too.' She said and the leaned up towards Ron and kissed him. What was she doing she had just broken up with him and now she was kissing him, she thought. 'Hermione? I really am sorry.' He said still shaking slightly. 'I know Ronald stop apologizing.' Hermione said and she kissed him again. What was she doing she is sending him mixed signals, but she didn't care she was just happy he was there with her right now.

Harry cleared hist throat and Ginny laughed beside him. Hermione had completely forgot they were there. 'Sorry guys for waking you all up for a stupid nightmare' Hermione apologized. 'Hermione, it was nothing we are here for you just like you are here for us, there is no need to apologize you would have done the same if it was one of us.' Harry said walking over to Hermione and hugging her. 'I know I would have but..' Ginny cut her off. 'But nothing we love you and we always will.' Hermione looked at the boys they were both nodding in agreement. Maybe breaking up with Ron was a mistake she thought. 'Do you want to sleep in here tonight?' Ron asked looking at her then Ginny. Hermione looked at Harry who nodded, then Ginny who did the same. 'Yes' she said cuddling in to Ron even more.

Hermione fell asleep cuddling Ron. She really did want it to work with him but would it? They woke up 7 hours later, it was one of the best sleeps Hermione had ever had. Thy were woken by Mrs Weasley who had went to find them all because they never slept this long, even Ron. She looked at them all lying there so happy then she shook them all awake. Hermione blushed when she seen that it was Rons mother that had found them lying asleep together in Rons bed. 'What happened here?' she asked laughing. 'Hermione had a nightmare and we all comforted her and then we fell asleep that's all mum.' Ron said his face going slightly pink. 'Okay dear, Hermione are you feeling okay?' Mrs Weasley asked her looking concerned. 'I'm fine Mrs Weasley, thanks' Hermione said still blushing. ' okay, well your Hogwarts letters came earlier so we are going to Diagon Alley today so get dressed and be downstairs in half an hour' Mrs Weasley told them smiling, before she turned and left the room. Hermione giggled slightly and looked at her friends. 'thanks for last night guys I really needed that.' She said smiling at her friends. 'It was no problem Hermione.' Harry told her 'Ginny nodded. Then Hermione looked at Ron. 'I really am sorry Ronald for everything, I put you through last night.' Hermione told him. He smiled 'I know but I think you were right.' he said. 'Even if I was right it should not have happened like that I know I really hurt you because it hurt me.' Hermione said her eyes filling up with tears, one escaped her eyes but Ron wiped it away 'I know but maybe its for the best.' he said smiling at her but Hermione knew it was fake. 'Does someone want to tell us what happened last night or are you going to leave it up to our imaginations?' Ginny asked laughing. So Hermione and Ron told them both about their break up, but it was for the best and they could see that now. They were closer now than they had been when they were dating, maybe things were going to be better than Hermione had expected.
