After their talk Ron and Hermione headed back to the part of the beach where they had left the others. By the time they got back it was dark. Ginny was lighting a fire and the others were all transfiguring some shells into logs for them to sit on. After about an hour they had all ate and were sitting round the fire talking. 

 'So 'Mione, how's it living in a new common room?' Seamus asks. 'It's very quiet, compared to the Gryffindor common room anyway.' Hermione answers. 'And what about having to share it with Malfoy' Dean asked 'It's okay.' Hermione said. Well it wasn't a lie. 'Really?' Harry asks. 'Yes, he's changed, he's not the same person. He didn't want all of that to happen.' She said, she knew she was defending him but he really had changed. 

'Why are you defending him Hermione. The war was his fault.' Ron said a little louder than the others. 'It is not his fault, how could you possibly blame him for everything?' She shouted back. 'It was his fault, he let them all into the school, he let them kill Dumbledore. It's his fault that everyone died. Fred, Lupin, Tonks, Snape, Dumbledore, Lavender, everyone. It's all his fault.' Ron shouted. Everyone else was silent, every one of them had tears rolling down their cheeks at the mention of the people they had lost. 'How dare you Ronald, they were all lost because of Voldemort, it is not Malfoys fault. He knows h was a coward the way he acted, now all he wants is a second chance.' Hermione shouted. 'Hermione, tell me you didn't give him a second chance. He doesn't deserve it' Ron shouted back at her. Everyone else was frozen stiff, they were all to scared to say anything. 'Who do you think you are? Honestly Ronald, what gives you the right to decide whether or not I give people a second chance.' Hermione says, she's no longer shouting. 'Draco Malfoy is not a person, he is a death eater' Ron shouts. 'He is a person, how could you say something like that? He is an ex Death eater. He didn't even want to be a death eater in the first place, his dad made him and you know that.' Hermione says. 'Look Ronald you  asked why we broke up and why we couldn't just try again, this is exactly why, we argue too much. I cant do this anymore.' She said standing up and leaving. 

She ran to the tent that she was meant to be sharing with the rest of the girls. She summoned her bag and started to re pack her things when Ginny walked in. Please don't go 'Mione. He's an dick and doesn't know what he's on about.' Ginny said grabbing Hermiones hands. 'Look at me 'Mione, I know you like him but, you need to think about your friends too.' Ginny said. 'I don't like him after that, he just doesn't understand.' Hermione said tears still rolling down her cheeks. Ginny pulled her into a hug. 'I wasn't talking about my ass hole of a brother.' Ginny said. 'What Draco?' Hermione said. 'Yes' Ginny said letting Hermione go. 'I know you like him, even if you don't know it yourself yet.' Ginny said smirking. 'But I can't, no I don't.' Hermione said.  'Who are you trying to convince 'Mione?' Ginny said smiling. 'Look Gin, I can't stay here with Ron here acting like that. I'm sorry I just can't.' Hermione said packing her stuff again. 'But I though things were going well for you two. Yous were away for over an hour, what were you doing?' she asked. 'We were taking, just talking. Then we hugged and stayed like that for a long time. I thought everything was going to better after that but now, I don't think it will anymore. I just need to leave. Say bye to the others for me.' and with a loud crack she was gone.
