The definition of Dark Arts as said by The Ministry of Magic is as follows, "any type of magic that is mainly used to cause harm, control, or even death to the victim." This is false. Dark Arts is used for control, but the definition used by me, is "a type of magic mainly used to control a person or group of people, with the connotations that the user wishes to ruin their lives". Meaning, any thing can be considered Dark Arts, if a group was to believe it is. For example, if the Ministry of Magic decided that The Summoning Charm, Accio, was considered Dark Arts, it would then become part of the Dark Arts. However, this book will be focusing on magic that has been considered "Dark" since its discovery.
