Chapter 31 ~ Endings.

In case your wondering what happened to all the remaining characters, I shall not deprive you of that information. It's a happy ending, as all endings should be, where all the characters got what they deserved. We shall then visit a scene between them:

The Isle of Avalon, near Glastonbury.

In the Year 2038.

''Karil!'' Ly leapt up to greet his friend, who stepped off the rowing boat with ease, amber fading from his eyes as the boat came to a standstill.

''Ly, mate, good to see you!'' Karil gave his friend a hug, grinning. It felt good to be back there, the cool spring breeze refreshing him after the long journey back from South America. He'd barely had time to relax since then, it had been rather a blur, and he was glad to be there. It felt familiar, comfortable.

Ly was in the process of hugging Maurelle, who had accompanied Karil on the mission to Brazil, there and back. She grinned at Ly and shook her hand as he raised his eyebrows in question. A silver engagement ring shone on the slim finger, sparkling in the light.

It was at that point Merlin came striding into view, emerging from the chamber below the stone pike. Maurelle then left Karil and Ly to their conversation and bounded towards the wizard, who was now smiling happily. In the time that Maurelle and Karil had spent as apprentices under Merlin, learning the old magic, Maurelle and Merlin had become very close and Merlin regarded her in a brotherly way. He had retained his youth, but was still ageing naturally, though no grey had appeared in his hair yet.

''Ly, that score mate! They couldn't have done it without you.'' Karil and Ly made their way towards Merlin and Maurelle discussing Ly's recent victory in the quidditch world cup. After graduating Hogwarts he'd been lucky and managed to land a position as a reserve chaser in the Scottish Quidditch Team. The last match had been the decider for the winner of the Quidditch World Cup, and Scotland had only managed to bag the victory because of Ly's timely score.

Merlin greeted the two boys with warm hugs and they began to discuss the recent matters in their lives; Karil's discovery of a Crumple-horned Snorkack in Brazil; Ly's new place on the Scottish Quidditch team as a permanent chaser after their victory; Merlin's new teaching job at Hogwarts as a divination professor; Maurelle's publishings of her book, ''The True Story of King Arthur'', that had somehow been made into a Muggle TV program called ''Merlin''...

And as the four friends talked, the knights rested peacefully below in the chamber, Mirror staring from the glass by Arthur's head.
