Chapter 28 ~ King Arthur.

The four of them; Merlin, Maurelle, Karil and Ly, all emitted a gasp as the crowd of witches swarmed before them, Mirror walking triumphantly up to Merlin, leading her army.
''So!'' Her voice rang steady and arrogant. ''What d'you think of my little army, Merlin? Does it phase you? Does it scare you? Does it shock you?''
''No.'' The wizard replied to the sneering Mirror. ''It disgusts me.''
Mirror's face darkened with fury once more. Looking behind at her watching followers, she pointed a finger at the wizard and shrieked. ''KILL HIM!''
Dozens of green flashes headed for Merlin, but Maurelle was faster. Eyes glowing golden, she sent a shield out to protect the four of them, holding out her shaking hands to keep it in place.
Mirror turned to Maurelle savagely. ''And what happened to killing him?!'' She asked, voice high and hysterical. ''Aren't you going to avenge your Mother? I suppose you've already betrayed her by protecting him, haven't you?''
''Maybe I realized that killing isn't the only way.'' Maurelle spoke calmly. ''Perhaps it is the way you see things, the way Morgause saw things, but my Mother, before your ancestor corrupted her, was kind, good. And thanks to your meddling work, I could have gone the same way.''
Mirror looked like a spoilt child, face filled with Malice and anger. ''What happened to you, Maurelle?'' She asked bitterly.''You could have been great, you could have been feared, admired. But instead you choose a life of shadow and soul.''
Maurelle lifted her head. ''I could have been like you.'' She said. ''The villain of them all, the mighty Mirror who always sees other's faults rather than her own.'' Maurelle looked at Mirror with sadness. ''Try having a look at your own reflection, Mirror, before you alter the guise of others.''
Mirror screamed with fury at this, losing complete control of her temper. ''You have no right to say that, no right at all!'' She shook her head wildly in anger. ''And if I cannot own you, then I will take you!'' She shrieked, looking back at her army. ''Kill them, kill them all!'' The throng of witches began to move forward, firing spells at the shield. Maurelle was trembling even more, she couldn't hold it. Karil turned to Ly and they both turned to Merlin. The wizard murmured silently to them.
''On ''one'', you grab Maurelle and follow me.'' He told the two boys, glancing at the advancing crowd of women, Mirror at the helm. ''Ok, Three - two - ONE.''
Karil snatched Maurelle's hands away and pulled her with him, getting behind the stone pike. Ly was with him to, but Merlin was round the front, whispering something as the witches sent spells his way. The boys pulled out their wands, firing stunners at the crowd. A few of the witches at the head went down, but Mirror and her insane army were nearly upon the wizard. Karil turned to Maurelle, who was weak and trembling, leaning against the pike. There was no way she could do anything, and he and Ly were useless. Meanwhile, Merlin was trapped at the front of the structure, he could see the wizard flattened against the stone wall. Merlin was heading for death and there was nothing they could do about it.
''Crucio!'' Mirror pinned Merlin to the ground as he writhed and screamed with pain, a cruel, satisfied smile dawning upon the witches face. Maurelle gasped, trying to make her way towards the crying Merlin, but Karil had to hold her back. Otherwise she would suffer the same treatment.
Then a crash paused the whole scene. Mirror stopped the spell, Maurelle stopped gasping and Merlin stopped screaming. The deep rumble came from the stone pike and a stone at the front moved to open, revealing a tall young man covered head to toe in armour. He walked out towards Mirror, who was frozen with horror and shock. Taking off his helmet, he revealed a young, clean shaven face with blonde hair swept across the forehead in a fringe.
''Hello, Mirror.'' His deep voice rang grave across the silent isle. ''Did you miss me?''
