PART TWO

Chapter 13 ~ Another Dream.

This time there was no screaming. No thrashing. Nobody awoke due to Maurelle's vision.

This was because it was intriguing, not horrific. Seeing Ly covered in blood with his skull half smashed in was enough to scare anyone.  But This dream was simple. Effective.

It was misty. White light was shining from somewhere, maybe it was the moon. She could feel pine needles under her feet and she realized she was in a glade. Cold air tore at her face and bare arms in a biting wind. She wore only her nightdress.

There was that feeling of expectance inside her, like she knew it was going to happen. Well, she would, because of this dream. But what was going to happen. Anything. She was alone at night in the forbidden forest.

And then there was a sound behind her. Spinning round, she was greeted by a young witch, pale blonde hair, grey eyes, high cheek bones. Maurelle let herself gasp. It was like she was looking at a blonde, slightly older version of herself. Still, she had to keep in check. Then she let herself go, let the scene play out. Her mouth opened and she formed the words.

''Who are you?''

The woman smiled and took a step closer to you. Maurelle took a step back.

''I am Mirror. Last living descendant of Morgause Gorloise. And I need your help.''

Maurelle never knew her own answer. A hole in the darkness opened and she was sucked out. She found herself sitting upright in bed, panting and gulping for air. But she knew exactly what she must do. Tomorrow night, she'd be out after dark.
